youve most likely got an issue with the CRTs one most likely which cuts out and back in randomly. Try removing the rear cover and look in at the three crts while its doing that and see if you can see one or more keep turning off and on.

Don't even try to clean the inside of the screen on the mode indicated here, av 56p575.If the picture is darker remove rear cover and reach up with a lens cloth and clean the three large lens---they are your light source.What is your reason to want to clean the inside of the screen, I am able to offer advice there.

No reset but there is a setting for speakers ON or OFF--bet they are now set to off.

go into menu and look for setting for speakers ON or OFF---speakers likely are now turned to OFF.

The CC is activated or disabled only from the remote - there is no option for that in the menu, in there you can only select what kind of CC you want to use (as you have yourself discovered).
The CC button is - on the original remote - right below the power button: press it once to disable CC.
