Hi, Please make sure that the discs do not have scratches . Then, you can clean any lens that the jvc machine uses to read your disc. Afterwards, you can attempt to play the discs again. If this does not work, please factory reset your device before attempting again. Otherwise, I think you might need to have the device repaired or potentially replaced. Thank you.

bad power supply

Unplug the JVC from the power outlet for 10 seconds. Plug the JVC TV back into the power outlet. Hold down both the "Menu" and "Volume Down (-)" buttons for another 10 seconds. Just before releasing these buttons, press and hold the "Power" button.

I need to know how the DVD player is hooked up in the back. Are you using HDMI, component or composite cables?

Two boards can cause the set to be dead, (power and main) considering this was storm related there is a better chance of it being power board failure, however static from lightning can come in the antenna or cable input if you use either of those. If you're using HDMI it's most likely going to be the power board.

Most likely you've damaged your main board from too large a load to the HDMI port.

what is it this computer.? this RX-D411S. ????? and TV receiver is not a computer at all it is for television. read the manual yet google for it and read it. no 2 TV AVR work the same. AUDIO/VIDEO CONTROL RECEIVER most AVR do have a reset in menu's did you lose the remote control? many times this must not be lost or things can not be reset. the first manual i read does not cover reset. hard to find yes.

The XV-THG31 is a part of the JVC TH-G31, http://resources.jvc.com/resources/00/01/17/14.pdf , home theater system. The original remote was the JVC RM-STHG61J. I have only found a vendor in the EU with this remote in stock, https://www.remote-control-world.eu/jvc-c-10_85/jvc-rm-sthg61j-remote-control-replacement-p-6230.html . Hi Brian..I'd start by replacing the tcon board, that generally causes issues like you're getting, it shouldn't be hard to remove however, you may need to remove the metal shield cover to get at it, be sure to order a new one by part number on the board not tv model, best place to get parts is shopjimy, stay away from ebay if possible as you may get another non working board, Hope this helps!
