Hi there! Typically the red light on lots of appliances (TV'S in particular) indicate power is available to the appliance, is this so on your tv? If so the first thing you should focus on is resetting the breaker associated with that power outlet or changing outlets. If there is a reset button on the tv then push it. I don't know but surely if your tv has an option for analogue inputs there will be a range of sockets for the job - phono and/or scart. If the sockets are there connecting will be intuitive. Many modern tv sets are compatible only with boxes, converters, decoders and media players that provide a digital output. Analogue to digital converters are available but I can't comment about how successful they are. I suggest you revisit the user manual of your tv.
