Zhumell SuperGiant Astronomical Binocular Questions & Answers
Whats the major problem with supergiants
They're big, heavy and awkward to use, and the image is over-magnified for the size of the objective giving less than ideal image quality and brightness. A general rule (especially if using for astronomy) is that the objective divided by the magnification should never be less than 5. With 20x80's it's a less than ideal 4 so you'll miss out on many fainter objects completely. They can be excellent for lunar observation though as the Moon is so bright.
The high magnification also makes them almost impossible to hand hold steadily enough unless a tripod (or monopod) is used, adding more bulk and awkwardness.

I bought a Far-Sight Binocular mount so I can
Hello. The stainless steel mounting stud is firmly hand-screwed into the binoculars' pivot point and a small hex bolt (wrench included) is then tightened to lock the stud to the binoculars. There is no need to overly tighten the hex bolt. I recommend using a cone washer assembly to provide the clenching tension that holds the binoculars rigidly in place when the stud is pushed down into the mount's keyhole-shaped slot. A detented locking plate is then swung down to serve as a safety measure. Regards, Joe

General suitability for birding
A) You have not stated to which model of Zhumell scope (of which I have never heard) this refers, but the new Swarovski has not only superb optical quality, but also a binocular eyepiece.B) Thank you for stating the blindingly obvious in the second part of your query, which appears to be in response to some previous interaction between yourself and Fixya, the details of which you have not indicated.
Cross hairs do not adjust. Tell me what to do please?
All question need FULL 'make model (what it is)'.
You posted to optics, so let's guess is a telescopic rifle sight?
It is impossible to see and movement as the crosshairs move such a tiny amount. Half a millimetre in the sight is 10 feet at the target. The only way to zero in sights is on a fixed bench rest at the range.
If you really think they are faulty, return them to the maker for repair.

I have a NexStar 90GT with no hand control, a replacement will cost $135, is it worth it to buy for this telescope?
Whether or not it's worth it to buy a replacement hand control for your NexStar 90GT telescope depends on a few factors:
- How often do you use the telescope? If you use it frequently and rely on the hand control to find objects in the sky, then it may be worth it to invest in a replacement.
- How important is the hand control to your observing experience? If you're comfortable manually finding objects in the sky and don't necessarily need the hand control, then it may not be worth the expense.
- Can you find a cheaper alternative to the official replacement? Sometimes, third-party sellers may offer hand controls that are compatible with your telescope at a lower price.
Ultimately, it's up to you to decide whether the cost of the replacement hand control is worth it based on your individual needs and preferences.
