Memory loss
There is a built-in memory that saves your settings and keep the clock working while the device is shut-down.
If the device has it built-in. then it's hard to replace it.
If it could be replaced then replace it and you are good to go.
MP3 PLAYER

Try formatting your storage on the MP3 Player then reset the device to the factory settings.
