I assume that the Marantz has an Optical lead input. If so you should connect an digital optical lead directly between the PS3 and the Marantz receiver for the sound while keeping the HDMI lead to the projector for the picture. You will need to configure the PS3 to be outputting the sound to the optical output (done through the settings menu).
Loud distortion on Front Channels
Well, the nice thing about the newer amps is that the actual amp
circuitry is all contained in a module and you don't have to do much
troubleshooting. Just replace the module for that pair of
channels. Bad news of course is the modules can be pricey.
Should say right on it the part number, order it from mcminone.com or
whoever, solder it in, use new conductive grease (many times I think
these modules fail because the grease gets old, the module overheats
and toasts) and you should be fixya'd
Powers off after about a second
If it smoked, it's NOT a fuse!! :o
The output transistors are blown and must be serviced by a shop. Expect $50-$150 for that repair.
Really bad sound quality loadsa hissing
A snake didnt make a home of it while you were away???LOL Naww just teasin .. First off may I say that if your going away for any extended time like over a few days unplug the electronics in case theres a stormn or power surge!!.. Ok now that the barn door is closed after the horse got out. Hmm Sounds like could be need reseting?? try unplugging for a night and trying in the am or PM whatever your time to be is?? If that dosent help you got a power surge its more sounding like and if your not a tech Im sorry to say you will need to callon a pro to assist you in this repair

Marantz CD5004 tray keeps opening problem
CD/DVD players use a protocol;
Open tray. Insert disk. Tray switch tells mechacon that the tray is shut. Attempt to focus on disk.
If focus is acheived, then it will spin up and try to read the disk otherwise it will ask for a readable disk.
If the tray keeps opening, I would suspect the tray detect switch is malfunctioning, maybe the drive belt has stretched.

Marantz DV 9500 DOES NOT PLAY ANY of normal CDs. Reads ONLY Super Audio CDs. What could be the cause for this fault?
