You have set up your tv in store (demo) mode. Go to settings then plug and play and scan channels again but this time select home mode before it searches for channels.

The specs say that it has an optical audio in on your home theater system. So the easiest way to hook up is to connect the optical audio out of your tv to the optical audio in of your home theater system and walla! I do not see a Samsung TV with the model UE40B7020. (What country are you in?) I do have documentation for the UE40C7000WW.

Is the TV in Shop Demo Mode? Press the Info button on the remote to see the mode. If it reads "Store Demo", try resetting it. Press the Volume button on the TV or the remote. While the Volume circle is displayed on the screen, press and hold the Menu button on the TV for about 7 seconds (the remote will not work for this). Home Mode should display on the TV screen.

Alternatively, you can set this from the TV menu system. Make sure that the current input is TV. Press Menu then select Setup (up/down arrows followed by Enter). Select the Plug and Play sub menu and follow the on-screen directions to reset the tv to the Home Mode.

Here are some basic steps that will help you fixing the problem.

I'm assuming that your unit is dead set without an standby LED light and your outlet is live.1.Power cord - check the cord it might be opened (no continuity).This is due to frequent bending,pulling. 2. Power switch - check for dry joints, open contact. 3.Check the internal fuse- sometimes the fuse fail because of the power surge, replacing with new one will cure the problem, If this is the case I would advice you to use surge protector/AVR (Automatic Voltage Regulator). If no reaction and still the unit didn't power up then you have an open parts on the power supply.

4.If you see that the fuse is intact , don't attempt to touch anything because there some fatalcomponents stored electricity enough to hurt you with a simple mistake only. I would advice you to look for a professional to troubleshoot the power supply. If you want to repair it yourself make sure that you have necessary tools and test instrument. First check bad solder joints(re-solder all cold solder), leaky electrolytic capacitor(sometimes it has bulged at the top but not all, you better have a capacitor checker), open/shorted regulator transistor/IC(mounted in heat sink), open fusible resistor (caused by shorted regulator Transistor/IC), shorted zener diode.

You may also replace the power supply board, try online like ebay.com and shojimmy.com.

Also check if your unit is under warranty before opening the back panel, it will void the warranty. Avail it because the manufacturer of your unit will fix it for free or a little charge only.

Check the power supply board for bad capaciotrs they will be vented or puffed up on Top.

bro you should take it to the repairer,No other options you have. it can't be fixed by doing anything accept changing it's screen or repairing it, if it's possible

It can't be done. The Samsung remote will be single frequency for that Samsung device only and the LG remote for that television (or series) only. Companies don't make cross-control between makers easy. The only exception is cable and satellite boxes to allow their remote to also control the television.
