Dell 2300 MP temp light flashes and projector turns off.
I am experiencing a similar problem with mine. It will cycle on and off without actually powering up fully and then after about the 4th or 5th time it will shut off completely and the lamp indicator light on top illuminates. i am reading in other blogs that this is a design flaw on this unit. let me know if you have found any fixes.
I have 2300mp i had a loud sound and it sound like
This is undoubtedly a broke color wheel. The wheel is made up of four small slices of colored glass, Cyan, Magenta, Yellow and Clear. Each slice is fixed into a groove on a brass hub. The high-pitched "whirring" noise that you hear on start up is the wheel spooling up at high speed. If one of the "slices" comes loose from the hub it can break, bind or start scraping. Regardless, there is a sensor that reads the speed of the wheel and won't allow the unit to come fully on if the wheel doesn't come up to speed (which it no longer can). Bottom line...Game Over. It's simply too expensive to fix. I personally am hoping for a class action suit on this obvious piece of junk retailed by Dell. But think of all the extra money they are making from people rushing out and spending up to $300 for a bulb that won't solve the problem. Ahhh...gotta love free enterprise!
Same problem
Had the same problem, tried a Factory Reset from the menu and it seems
to have worked. Don't know what caused in in the first place
Re no red
it's likely one of two things then. it could be the cable that you are using or the actual jack that it is connected to. i would try a new/different cable first. this is great news as i'm sure you know because a new bulb for a projector is not very cheap!
No red
could be the bulb. I would hook up a DVD/Blu-ray to this test and make sure it isn't anything with your computer. if you have the same problem with a different device, it's likely time for a new bulb.
How to adjust for distance from the screen
I think I found the answer, I found a manual online for it. And I found a page that gave all the specs on it. I believe the specs page has the answers I was looking for. It specified the zoom and focus are manual adjustments. My co-workers will try that this morning
Dell 2300 fuse
if you follow power cord inside the projector it is supposed to be first thing in the way of power cord(take care to remove power cord from the wall outlet first.)
