Alesis Multimix 8 USB 2.0 8-channel Mixer Questions & Answers
I AM LOOKING FOR A
Since this unit uses so little power, I would recommend a small stepdown transformer. A 20 or more Watt one is sufficient. DO NOT use a convertor that is intended for appliances like hair driers.
Here is a link... the smallest would work and costs $8... I don't know how they can make them for that. You might consider getting a bigger one if you get other equipment to run as well.
Finding the special power adapter that uses 220 and is compatible to the Alesis would cost much more.
I record a podcast with
What is the source of the input signals? These need to be balanced lines and the sources need to be balanced. If you happen to be using condenser mics, you probably haven't turned on the Phantom Power in the mixer. If you are recording from a sound card in the PC, those have a lot of noise and are unbalanced and you have to use DI's with ground lift ahead of this mixer.
Anybody ever figure out the Alesis DM10 module blank screen with some led lights on?
Try a reset before going to assistance:
There are two ways to reset the DM10:

Alesis Qs6.2 / Re-initialized and now no Sound on any Bank?
All user voices are erased when it is reinitialized. You'll have to restore from a backup or sit down and rewrite them all.
This is why I suggest always making a backup of anything important becasue even an electronic failure could cause a data loss and buying a new one won't help if you don't have abackup to restore from.

Backup sr16 to another sr16
You can send the current patches and programs along with your songs and sequences via MIDI cable from one to the other. Done it many times using a MIDI thing called SYSEX dumps.
You have to hook the MIDI OUT of the unit you want to duplicate to the MIDI IN of the new machine.
Go through the SYSTEM menu and there is a menu item for SYSEX DUMP. Select that and hit the enter and the new one will receive the dump. Both of them will be programmed identically.

My alesis hr-16 has seveloped a software issue 02..what does that mean?
The software is on an EPROM chip inside.
It can go awry for a number of reasons, including a voltage surge via the earth, coming back from the amp
Always connect everything before powering up your system. If you disconnect to troubleshoot, power down before reconnecting.
Try this if you don't mind losing all your patterns:
Power off
Hold down "ERASE", "DELETE", and "RECORD" while you turn power on
This will clear all your memorized patterns & reinitialize the system.
If that doesn't work, the EPROM chip may need to be reprogrammed or replaced.
