Yes the aftermarket ribbons are re-inked ribbons and are bad for the frets. If your tech cleaned the frets with an abrasive tool or chemical other than alcohol then he removed the protective film and the frets are bad.

There is not a windows 7 driver for the P5000, but the P7000 driver has been fully tested by Printronix to work with the P5000. Alternatively you can use the printer in Epson emulation mode and use the Epson 1080 driver included in Windows7.

Depends on the code needed, I configure CMX boards in-house and ship them out all the time. Just need a config from your printer in order to match it up. [email protected]

and change setting to your computer cmos setup
go cmos setup find parralal port mode option select EPP+ECP


First you change your datacable if problem can't solve so change
cmos setup option

1. copy file name lpt1 (parallel) 2. copy file name com1 (serial)

OFTEN the cause of alignment problem is that the paper tractors are too loose and paper moves more than it should. It takes careful adjustment of the tractors to hold paper just right when the hammers hit the characters. Too tight and the tractors tear out the edges, too loose and characters rattle around in alignment.

OTHER problems can be caused by TOO LOW humidity which causes electrostatic attraction and drag. SOMETIMES they use an ionizer bar and the high voltage power supply goes bad. Another thing is drag from the stack of paper source.
