Dell inspiron laptop 1545 administrator password won't unlock

Will it boot into the operating system or is it stuck at the bios password? If it is the Windows administrator password then I'll need more information such as what version of Windows you are on. If it is Linux then let me know. If it is stuck with a bios/boot password then you'll need to reset it by removing the CMOS battery for a few seconds. This will clear any settings in the BIOS setup.

Where do i stick my sd with adapter on my dell inspiron 1545

Most portable SD stick readers come with a USB connection so you just stick it into any spare USB port (see USB adaptor pic). If you have an SD to SD adaptor that fits a small SD card into a larger SD card holder (see SD adaptor pic) then you also need one of the SD stick readers (above)

Dell Inspiron 1545 hinges

You will need to get them fixed or replaced before they cause further problems. Typically when the hinges are loose or damaged, opening and closing the lid will cause it to crack and detatch the securing points moulded into the plastic case.

Dell inspiron

Meaning the graphics chipset is OK.Problem lies with the Video Cable, or Display Assembly.(Dell: Display Panel Cable = Video cable)The Display Assembly is the;1) Display Bezel: Plastic thin frame in front of the LCD screen.2) LCD screen (Dell = Display Panel)3) Screen Frame: The thin metal frame which surrounds the LCD screen layers, and also holds them in place. (Resembles a picture frame, and can be disassembled)4) Camera (If applicable)5) Screen Inverter: (Dell = Display Inverter)The Display Panel Cable (Video Cable) is a thin flat ribbon cable. One end connects to the motherboard, the cable then goes up by the left Hinge, and the opposite end connects to the back of the LCD screen, in the Display Assembly.1) A connection may be loose. One end of the video cable may be loose, to it's connector. BOTH the connection on the motherboard, AND the connection at the back of the LCD screen, need to be checked. This means partial disassembly of the laptop body, to check the motherboard connection. It is under the Keyboard. ALL power removed from laptop, AC adapter (Charger), and Battery, the Center Control Cover needs to be removed next, then the Keyboard,http://support.dell.com/support/edocs/systems/ins1545/en/SM/keyboard.htm#wp1179911Also look at the condition of the sheath, of the video cable. If there looks to be apparent damage to the sheath, the tiny thin wires inside may also be damaged. (Stretched/Broken)Checking the connection of the video cable at the LCD screen, requires opening the Display Assembly. This requires removing the Display Assembly first,http://support.dell.com/support/edocs/systems/ins1545/en/SM/display.htm#wp1109848Both connections check out? Prove to be tight? (If you open the Display Assembly, and the video cable falls off, it wasn't tight)I would then suggest performing a continuity check of the video cable.Check each wire in the video cable. (Multimeter set to Ohm's, see if electricity passes through the wires. Continuity)If the video cable proves to be good, then the screen Inverter is next.An LCD screen cannot produce light by itself. (Or enough light)It needs an additional light source.A Backlight is the additional light source.A Backlight can be a CCFL, or a series of LED lights. The Dell Inspiron 1545 Notebook PC uses a CCFL as a Backlight.A CCFL is a Cold Cathode Fluorescent Lamp.Similar to Fluorescent lighting used in homes, and businesses, but on a MUCH smaller scale.{ Example: 2mm Wide and 334mm Long. That is approximately a little thicker than 1/16th of a inch, (.078), and a little longer than 13 inches }A screen Inverter converts the power (Electricity) from the laptop, for the Backlight, and LCD screen.90 PERCENT OF THE TIME the fault is the Inverter.Fortunately it is also the cheaper of the parts, when compared to an LCD screen, and is easier to access. It is behind the Display Bezel, and mounted at the bottom of the LCD screen frame.[ In the Display Assembly link above scroll down to the subheading -Display Bezel. In the first photo under the subheading, the screen Inverter is shown at the bottom, of the LCD screen. This example shows it in more detail,http://www.batterysupport.com/dell-inspiron-1545-inverter-p-206027.htmlTo test a screen Inverter you need a sensitive multimeter. This = $$$$(Or you can use a good Inverter to test)Barring that the two examples above are not feasible, the alternative is to buy, and replace the screen Inverter.A) Video Cable checks out it's on to the screen Inverter.B) Replace screen Inverter does not fix the problem, the problem is a bad LCD screen.I'm betting on a loose connection of the video cable, at the back of the LCD screen. Just my thoughts.Post back in a Comment, (Or Comments), as to your findings.Regards, joecoolvette

I'm having problems ejecting cd's

Hi

If you go into the computer and open it look for the cd/dvd drive
highlight and right click it and go down to the properties
now click on recording up in the top right hand side of that box
then go down to and put a tick in the box where it says
Automatically eject the disc after a master burn then restart the laptop
this should then automatically eject after a burn

if it don't then

click on your computer icon
it should open it up and show you your hard drive/s
also the cd/dvd drives
if you highlight the cd/dvd drive then right click it and go down to eject hopefully this will eject it
also there is a small pin hole just beneath the push eject switch on the drive itself if you push something thin in there gently but firmly it should also eject the drive

hope this has helped you
please let us know if fixya has fixed it for ya

How do you install a hard drive

Larry provides great answer up there ^^^ which is better down here. Larry Ng Jun 23, 2022 NO PC told (dell has 10000 models) no OS told, windows what"? no drive told. my wild wild guess is the boot drive is locked. and you are attempting and ******* act. to it. like deleting key parts of a running OS (windows) (like deleted tires on rims of 85mph moving car, fails) no real goal told, but the nebular "install HDD" one can add a 2nd drive easy or any of 1000s of external HDD models or external or internal, SSD or even a thumb drive. (vast) (just 2 steps in fact) but the boot drive , change out is far far far more complex. and you never not told that. you want to mess with the C: drive? now let me guess the real goal (sad I must) the OS drive windows is failing ( common) and some lil' bird told you it needs a new boot drive, and then fail to say so here. okay I will bite. 1: buy a new SSD (hdd fail and are slow) 2: buy a new OS, from MS. or get free w10. (ask how) 3: then put in new SSD, 4: run the w10 installer media (it is free) 5: load w10 to the SSD fresh 6: answer the silly 30 questions it asks. 7: and click activate. (buy it) ..

When trying to use office word starter I get asked for user name and initials every time I log on. After that it goes to the Microsoft Office window and I have to accept the license agreement.

ask at Microsoft.com forum , there? or learn that if PC had this new, it is in fact crippleware. and will nag you until you buy it or do the rent things, 360 jive. best is buy it and set it up like you went. even 2007 runs here on w10. office. the PCs most on earth new, come with free but fully crippleware. as do vast other bloatware loaded on new PC. I erase all that junk and set up my own things paid and licensed.
