Rockford Fosgate T20001 bd Car Audio Amplifier Questions & Answers
Rockford t20001 bd amplifier no sound.
Disconnect your subs. Chk the impedance with an ohm meter. They should read apx 4 ohms or 8 depending on woofer. If they chk ok chk the remote turn on for voltage when system is on.
My amp popped one night i disconnected the power
that is gonna be the place to start but you also want to check the pc board for burn damage, and test your capacitors. unless you are electronically savvy i would bring it in as you could cause more damage. doesn,t hurt to get an estimate, you can always take it home and do the repairs yourself if you feel up to it.
Is my alternator too small
If you're running the amp into a safe ohm load, it's likely that the amp is cutting out due to low voltage. You need to check the voltage with a multimeter connected directly across the terminals of the amp. If the voltage is dropping below ~10v, check the voltage across the main battery terminals. If the voltage is essentially the same at the amp and at the battery and it's dropping below ~10v, you need a larger alternator.
Rockford Fosgate Power T20001bd goes into protect upon power up.
In most of Rockford's amps, the low voltage detection is connected to the remote input. If the remote voltage is too low and they use the same circuit on this amp, it could trigger the protection circuit.
Disconnect the head unit's remote from the amp. Use a fuse holder with a 3 amp fuse to jump between the B+ connection and the remote terminal of the amp. If the amp powers up, the head unit's remote output may be defective. If it blows the fuse, the remote input or part of the power supply is damaged. Do not try it with an unfused jumper.
2 12 p3d212 2 ohm hooking up to a rockford
Hello a_brake11,
The P325.1 is relatively small to power a pair of P3's. You'll only get 325 watts RMS at 2 ohms (162.5 watts per sub). The P3's power range is from 100-500 watts, so they will work, but don't expect them to be really loud.
For best power, your subs should be wired with the voice coils in series and then the 2 subs paralleled to the amp resulting in a 2 ohm load.
Hope this helps.
I have a Rockford Fosgate 1500 BD amplifier and terminals for the power cable will not loosen or tighten how do I fix it
First off will the fastener turn ? If not try using a bit of wd-40 and letting it "soak" for a little while . Also be sure you are using a good proper sized Phillips screwdriver . If the fastener still won't turn try using a can of "computer duster " inverted so the liquid comes out , note this will be well below zero degrees , and freeze the screw head , then try turning . If the fastener is stripped and the ttol slips you will have to remove the amp cover and grip it with a pair of vise grips ,pliers or a flat blade screw driver .
