How to download universal hub
Go to Asus' support site for the laptop
here.
If that link doesn't work, go to www.asus.com, go to "Services" and then "Support", type in 1005HAB, it'll bring you to a link to the laptop. Click "Download", select "Windows XP" from the dropdown list and download and install the "Chipset Driver".
Blue light on ac adapter
Check the voltage on the power output of the adapter.
Even if it's right, it could be failing under load, but then the LED usually goes out.
Try running the unit with the battery removed, but my real guess is that the power input jack has come unsoldered.
Move the power input in small circles and see if there is a position where the charge light comes on in the Eee.
If that happens, you need to resolder the power connector on the motherboard.
If not, I would strip the unit to the motherboard and check the pico-fuses and SMT mosfets around the power input area.
If that is beyond the scope of your abilities, I would go to www.SuperTech-IT.com and schedule a repair for the unit.
The cooling fan does not
The fan hasn't been cleaned and oiled so it jammed. You will need to dismantle the netbook and clean the fan. For that watch this

My time and date are incorrect and the startup
If you are using Windows XP/Windows 7 all you have to do is right click on the time in the taskbar, and click properties. Click on "synchronize with web" (or something to that effect) and it will sync to an online server, thereby fixing the problem. I don't know exactly how to do it, since I am not running Windows, but I've done this before on my mom's computer. :)
My battery on my ASUS
Check the voltage at the pins of the adapter. If present accordingg to the specifications then connect to the laptop and remove the battery from behind. Now check the voltage at the battery terminal of the laptop. if there is low or no voltage to the desired level then there are problems within the main board as this insufficient voltage will not charge the battery makeing it go down below level.
Asus 1005HAB will not start up.Screen stays dark
Hi,
If the problem lies on Windows this can be repaired. First, If you are using Windows 7 or Vista, we can try to launch startup repair from the advance boot options menu. You can access this through tapping F8 right after you turn the computer on. Tap F8 until you get to the advance boot options menu. Choose "Repair your Computer" and this should guide you on how to do the startup repair.
If you are using Windows XP, we need to try to boot to safe mode and see if you can boot the Operating System from there. To do this, it's the same drill, tap F8 repeatedly on your keyboard once you turn the computer on until you get to advance boot options menu. Choose safe mode and press enter. This should load the operating system to safe mode. If you are able to boot from here then that means one of your "drivers" has failed the OS to boot normally. If all of these fails, We can try to repair the Operating System by booting using your Restore CD or your Operating System CD from the CD-ROM drive. Reboot the computer and press F12 (or whatever it is that makes you choose to boot to CD) while seeing the pc manufacturer's logo, this should give you the options to boot to CD-ROM. It will give you a quick prompt of "press any key to boot to cd..". Make sure you press the space bar during this time to initiate the boot from CD-ROM.
For Windows XP, Once the Windows Setup loads, Choose "Recovery Console" to repair your computer. Just choose the installation you would like to repair (normally it's number 1) then it will ask you for the administrator password. By default, the password is blank, but if you set a password for admin then use that password.
Once you get to the prompt, Type this command. "CHKDSK /R" (without the quotes). It will initiate the repair for your OS. This might take an hour or so. Just wait for it to finish and it will automatically reboot your computer. Let the computer computer reboot normally. You should be able to get to your normal windows screen back.
For Windows 7 and Vista, do the F8 and choose Repair your Computer, Choose the installation you want to repair then choose command prompt. Type CHKDSK /R and that shoudl initiate the repair for your OS. Most of the time, the "startup repair" should do the fix for Vista and 7, but just in case it fails, do this step.
BTW, these repairs are designed to repair the OS without you losing the data you have on the pc.
Hope this helps. Good Luck.
When i poweer on my
Sounds like your bios has gone and or the hdd causing the netbook not to boot up, if you have added anything tot he netbook before this happened, remove it and try again as sometimes even adding a usb can cause the machine not to even turn on i would suggest doing this first, if it does not fix the problem then there is a fault with your netbook and will need to contact the place where you bought it to have it fixed if it is out of warranty then not alot that can be done other than selling it for parts
When i turn on my
If you see the windows xp sign on boot then things are not that bad. If you do not see any bootup text such as memory count, bios check, any text...then you may have a break in your ribbon connector to your lcd bezel.
if you can see any text try this:
on bootup, hit F8 constantly until you get the startup menu, select last known good configuration, reboot.
if nothing except flashing, you will need servicing on your LCD.
My screen turn off inside
This is caused by a dead backlight and video inverter. These are relatively cheap to replace and it only requires the display be opened and one is a plug in card and the other is a picture tube type lamp that projects the backlight portion of the LCD, which in turn enables you to actually see what is on the display. Take it to any descent computer guy and it should cost no more than $60.00 to fix. Let me know if you require additional information..
Machine will not boot.. Black
In this case you need to repair your OS.
You need to insert the OS which is a bootable disk, in case of net book you need to connect a USB with OS loaded in it and select boot from USB in bios, for entering in bios you need to press the F 2 button while restarting the computer.
Shut dwn to prevent damage.

Blue screen telling me to
Please try hard rebooting the device, this should clear the issue.
If this does not work then try booting Windows into safe mode and restoring the system to a earlyer date.
Good luck.
My asus EE PC 1005HB will not bootup at all not
Follow the steps below,
Step 1: Shut down your PC completely.
Step 2: Turn on the Power button.
Step 3: As soon as you turn it on start hitting the F8 key on your keyboard until you get to a black screen called "Windows Advanced option". (If you don't get to that that screen but you end up reaching the blue screen than that means you have delayed in hitting the F8 key. start again from step 1.)
Step 4: As soon as you reach "Windows Advanced option" use your down arrow keys to choose an option called "Last know good configuration".
Step 5: Select that and HIT ENTER.
Lst us know if this fails we may have to remove combofix using commands.
