When using the oven the

Sounds like the oven element has gone. When these elements go they often short against the outside casing of the element which is earthed (or should be). This trips the main trip switch in the house. Having tripped and cooled down, the element is now broken inside & won't heat up. Usually 2 screws to remove, either inside oven or outside at back. Element usually taken out thro oven. Take it & cooker info to your dealer & ask for replacement. Shouldn't cost much.

When I switch the bottom

Sounds like your element might be blown and shorting. Switch the appliance OFF. You should be able to remove the element without removing the oven. Open the door and remove the back panel, normally 4 screws. This will expose the element. Then it should be 3 or so screws holding the element to the frame, remove these and slowly pull the element towards you carefully, then remove the 2 wires from behind and make sure they don't fall back into the oven as you will need to remove the back panel to get them. Then reverse process to install new element. Hope this helps.

When I was using main

Sounds to me to me like a direct short. Hot wire in unit could be touching part of unit. Oven switch if it has one or main board could be shorted. Oven will have to be pulled to check. Slimm possibility weak breaker.

How to dismantle a ckg

I have the installation and servicing documents for this item.

I would be interested in the f.s.d./solenoid assembly if you are getting rid of it.

I am not an engineer but if I can assist you with photocopies of the book I will, but I don't think this will help much.

And if anybody else reading this can help me obtain a FFD part no. C00154538 I would be very grateful.

Grill wont stay on

Hi.

If this is an electric model, test the upper element. Before replacement the element can be tested removing it from the cavity and reading Ohms at the element terminals, with a multimeter set at Rx1. Disconnect power before removing the element.

If this is a gas oven, and the grill igniter is working, then test wiring to valve, valve solenoid and safety switch.

Regards.

My new world oven keeps

Hi

Thanks for using FixYa. Please check to see if the fan is working if not then that means the circuit board or oven bake igniter is becoming defective. If your range/oven doesn't seem to work at all, check these:
Fuse/circuit breaker
Check to see if power is getting to the range/oven. Does anything turn on--even a light? If not, check for a blown fuse or tripped circuit breaker.
Main wiring
Often the main wiring connection from the house, at the range/oven, gets burned and so breaks the connection. Then you may have to replace the power cord to the range/oven, and the terminal block that the wire is attached to.
Range/oven wiring
There may be a broken or burned wire at the back of the range/oven. If you repair any of the wires, use only proper appliance-grade wire and wire connectors.

Please do accept the solution if the issue is resolved or else revert for further assistance.

Thanks

Rylee
