Will a usb charge the cruz?

As far as I know the 101 does not support USB charging just the DC in jack works for charging it. Most smaller tablets do not support USB charging. I have a Acer Iconia as my personal and i doesn't do that. I can't say it is missed. I only have a 5-6 hour battery but can plug in any time to charge without having to have a pc or laptop running.

Wont reset wont turn on

You could open up the back and disconnect the battery for a minute and reconnect. The battery is the big gray in the back with the white/red/black cable. I got mine to load up, but it then froze at the Cruz logo. I've seen this problem a lot with the readers, maybe it has something to do with Google changing the App store to it's new name and these readers will not support it.

Won't turn on - I hit the power button on my

Usually when you have what i would call a power lock out. you must remove the battery and wait a few minutes and put it back in, and it usually fires up. Most electronics have these problems. If you are 100% sure the unit is charged with a green light, or no light at all, and you pressing of the top button does not turn it on then remove the back, it is very easy. You can lift it up with your fingernail. If new and faint of heart, under warranty, and all, then make that phone call. Otherwise, you must attempt to remove the connects to the big grey squared battery for a moment, which is said to be easy to do and the battery easy to replace. Look for instruction on the removal on YouTube, or other sites. However, I am more than sure this will solve the problem, unless it has been in liquid, a power surge, dropped, or in excessive heat or cold, or touched by some with "bad karma" for electronics (just kidding). hope this helps.

Adobe flash not compatible with cruz reader, what can I donwload to watch certain videos?

Rock player is solid for videos you put on there or download (flv) but it does not allow you to watch on the web.I had occasional luck with dolphin hd browser on my r102 which is essentially the same model. (go to 4shared.com and search dolphin apk) or anywhere on the internet really. It's free.Other than that you can put a custom ROM on it (jgm or macho are the leaders for cruz readers at this time). For more info on all of that search velocity cruz custom rom you can put either of the names I put above in the search. Look for slatedroid or xda forums. I would start with slatedroid the community expects much less of you.If you root you will have access to overclocking, Google's android market, you'll also be able to mask your device as some better faster device so that the android market doesn't prevent you from downloading certain thingsfor the most part you will not be able to watch flash videos online. The device is slow and so are most (not all) flash videos. Many of them aren't made well and that is a big part of the reason that flash is no longer going to be on the internet.good luck

It aint workin

Go to settings and turn on wifi. If you cant do that and see networks somethings wrong with it. Try returning it or going through the manufacturer because its defective. If there are no networks you need wifi. Find that and retry. If you can't get wifi to work and cant return it then try putting the updated firmware from support part of the cruz website on your sd card and follow the instructions to reflash. If you can't even do that the thing is broken, find papers that have a tendency to blow off of where they are supposed to be and use it to hold them down.Remember you bought something with a resistive touch screen and a 1/2 ghz processor. It's slow and occasionally annoying to use. That is what you bought though. If it's just that you think it sucks then the problem is with research you did.

How do I download apps to my cruz

This is real simple. You can use the cruz app store or...go to the various online venders that you can download from. An example would be 4shared dot com. Search amazon.apk and download and install this. This will give you access to the amazon app store. If you root and flash to JGM ROM or Macho ROM (both of which are great) you will have the android marketplace. You can just download the .apk's (which are like a zip file of the app) online by searching the app name and apk. You can put them on your sd card or download them from the browser on the tablet. All apps downloaded this way will be free and doing this does usually break the copyright so check to make sure the app is free and has free licensing so that you dont do anything illegal ;). gluck

Won't unlock

If it isn't responding to touch there is probably an issue with the screen. If it responds to the power button when you press it (on the screen not on the top) then it is likely a software glitch. You'll be reflashing. Do not mess with the screen as it is not the problem. First things first. Shut it off and restart it. If you cant shut it off open the back and pull the battery cable out. Leave it for a few minutes and plug it back in retry then move on the to following..If you have important stuff you don't want to lose on it that would be lost if you flashed it: turn it off. Unscrew the casing and check the plug for the screen to make sure its plugged in. Push all plugs you see and ribbons in and reattatch if they are out.If you can flash first: do it then follow the previous instructions after you try again. If neither respond it seems the resistive response to the touch screen failed and you should probably try to get a new one under warranty or as a manufacturer defect. Do not tell them you opened the back. If they ask you to do that for troubleshooting that's cool but don't say you opened it because it may cause them to think you broke something.Being that it is an old product that they are discontinuing, being nice and talking them about it may go a long way. Show your willingness to try to fix or work on the issue and sometimes with a little luck you get pushed up to someone with the power to actually help you out. You'll likely pay for shipping but you could very well end up with a brand new one.Good luck
