I can't download upadate 7.01 for call of duty
If you are stuck on the Downloading game settings screen after clicking Find Game, this may be the fix for you. I did this on my PS3 and it worked.
1) Go into network settings and then make sure everything is custom, no automatic.
2) Find the IP address for the PS3. This is the problem!
3) Set the IP address to 192.168.1.100. If COD4 does not work, change the 100 in the IP to a higher number (101,102,103 etc.) (The closer to 100, the better.) Then try again.
This simple thing worked for me, and should work for you.
Reason: Most online games use the IP address from the PS3, but COD4 doesn't. The designers of the game made it so that COD4 scans for its own IP address. It scans from 192.168.1.100 up and that's why if you CAN get COD4 to work with the Downloading Game Settings box, it takes an hour. By changing it to ....100 you are forcing COD4 to choose that IP address which is the fastest one.
World tour
This is common on world tour kits, the kit itself is of very poor quality. As a matter of fact, my orange symbol registers a hit once every 5 or 6 hits :/
~Anyway, you can try fixing this by removing the symbol from kit, and unscrewing the plastic protector that is concealing the metal sensor.
~You should see 2 wires glued down to the sensor. One is glued to the OUTER ring, the other is glued to the INNER ring. Pay very close attention to this.
~Pull the first wire out from the glue and try to clean away as much of the glue as possible.
~Strip some of the plastic off of the wire, about 6mm will do.
~Either A) re-glue the wire down making sure it has much more exposure to the sensor, OR...
B) Take tape of your choice (duct tape or gaffa tape works well) and tape the wire down to the sensor, making sure it is ONLY touching the ring it is supposed to.
~Repeat this process for the other wire.
~Replace plastic covering and test the symbol. It should work perfectly. If it is still unsensitive, you can have RedOctane send you a MIDI cable to run the drum sensitivity tuner program to increase the sensitivity. Alternatively, you can take some more tape and run it from one side of the symbol (the under-side) to the other, and crossing over the top of the sensor. This increases it's sensitivity by allowing vibrations to carry along a wider area.
Hope this helps you :)
Disc Read Error
If a dual layer disc is not functioning, there is a problem with your laser. This is a frequent issue with Playstation 2 consoles. As a laser starts to fail, the first type of disc to stop reading is the dual layer disc. Eventually regular DVDs will start skipping in the middle of the game and loading times will increase. Eventually it will stop reading DVDs as well. The solution is a replacement laser. You can find one at the following website for $30 including shipping:
http://store.richspsxparts.com/pl270sev12la1.html
Xbox360 will not recognize the disc
laser has failed, look on ebay for one, you need to know what drive you
have google xbox 360 drive types to find out then make sure you get
the correct laser for the drive type. hope this helps
I never used cheats but my game still won't save
Could be harddrive failure . Is there anything else you can get to off your harddrive.. "dowloaded games, content etc. If this is the case check out youtube but the process is a pain so it my be better for you to just buy a new one ...... If the game is new it could be a Patch issue ...
Can't down load cod 5 map pack 3. Is it licensed in Ireland
Try this and see if it works....Go to XboxLive.com and log in using your email address and password. Once you are logged in go to the XboxLive Marketplace. There should be a drop down menu to the left of the page that says "change department" click on the arrow and go to game add ons and click on it. Call of Duty should be on the first row of games that pop up. Click on it and then go to map pack 3 and click the green button that says download to xbox 360. It should then send it to the download tab on your 360. The computer is a diffrent ISP address so it may have some bearing or it may not. I googled your problem and alot of people have your problem in diffrent regions and they had luck with this solution. If it doesn't work I will try to research some more for you.
