The Sherwood R-945 has at least 6 fuses inside - any one of them could keep the system from powering on properly. The lowest power fuse is rated at only 35 MILIamps, I believe ( it's element is barely visible to the naked eye ). Check that all fuses are intact (with the power off)

My R-945 unit kept shutting itself off directly after powering up - turned out that one of the speaker wires had a fault - (found after hours searching with voltmeter). Check that all Inputs / Outputs are secure.

Good luck with yours!

Most things are fixable even if modifications have to be made in order to use modern components if originals are no longer available.

First you need to find a person with the expertise to fix it and then you have to afford it because these days repairs aren't cheap. Most repair shops no longer offer free estimates and the cost of the estimate alone often exceeds the value of an item.
