What could be the cause of the receiver act like it's not plugged in? No lights or anything.

Is the outlet live? Does something else plugged into the same outlet work? Does the receiver have a master power switch on the back that may have been switched off by accident. Some - not all receivers have user replaceable fuses. If you do not see a fuse holder on the receiver near where the power cord attaches then you may need to open the chassis to see if there are replaceable fuses on the power supply board inside. Follow where the power cord connects to the chassis. It will lead to a board with a transformer that changes high voltage to the low voltage that the receiver needs to operate. IF there are user replaceable fuses inside they will be on the power supply board. PLEASE make sure that the unit is unplugged and has been for some time as the transformers sometimes stores residual voltage that will harm you. Don't do this unless you know what you are doing inside the unit. I recommend novices just take it to the repair center. Also - IF you replace with the wrong fuse type and rating you can cause further damage to your unit. Good luck and be careful.

Where do i find the Ic

IC or Integrated Circuits are common in all electronics devices. The Sherwood Receiver mentioned will have lots of them. Each one will do a specific task. IC's look like black boxes with at least 8 pins coming out of them. I will post an image of a typical ones. Otherwise you will have to be more specific. e21a4cee-4199-4f84-9a14-f8cd29e9096b.jpg

I have a RD-6108 5.1 Channels receiver that want

If you consider that a TV is just a lightshow, it's not that complicated...

Composite Video Out to composite video IN on the TV would be the minimalist absolute necessary connection for managing the receiver through On Screen Displays.

Unless you intend to dub video to a VCR or something, there is no reason to bring TV video into the receiver.

My preference is to send the BEST version of any medium (audio or video) directly from it's original source to the BEST ELECTRONICS that uses it; then send minimalist versions across for convenience and lo-fi watching/listening.

Any self-respecting modern TV has multiple hi-def video inputs, so run the Bluray, DVD, cable box video straight in and run the audio from those devices to the Sherwood.

Fewer expensive cables, no excessive connections to go bad, no unnecessary handling of the material.

I'm pleased to see the manual for this one (and the product's limited video capabilities) don't tempt the user to route everything through it on the way to the TV.

I have a Audio/Video Receiver

They 'look' okay?

Generally speaking, an amp attempts to protect itself from heat, shorts, overloads and operator exuberance by refusing to turn on or stay on.

Overloads can be from excessive periods of high output or marginally low impedance loading by the speakers; and shorts would be wiring issues or a speaker blowing up.

You should be able to feel if it's hot. WHY is it overheating? Make sure it has sufficient ventilation on all sides and that vent holes are not blocked by dust balls. Ensure the fan (if equipped) is running as designed (some only operate on demand). Clean dust and debris from it.

If the amp comes back on after cooling, you're lucky. They only have so many self-protection cycles in their lives so continuously resetting or cycling their power without addressing the cause can do more harm than good.

If it protects immediately on a cool power up you should disconnect the speaker connections and try it 'naked'. If it comes up then diagnose which lead(s) are shorted. If it does not come up the problem is internal and should be left to an experienced and competent hands-on tech.

Check for loose speaker connections at the speaker as a root cause for intermittent shutdown.

I have a sherwood RD-6108 receiver that shuts off after 30 sec. of use

This is the overload protection circuit. Make sure not alot of dust build up inside and make sure no speaker connections are touching. Most likely being that it a sherwood you will want to consider replacement.
Thank you,
