Planet audio amp logo wont light up

Check to make sure that the "remote turn on" lead is intact. They are usually blue wires. This wire provided a turn on voltage to fire up the amp once the head unit is turned on.

Power light comes on my planet audio ac4001d but logo doesn't light up

Kegan... I tried and tried to find schematics and/or a troubleshooting guide with no luck! Sorry about that... IF you can open it up, see if you find fried or destroyed parts? Look CAREFULLY for a blown fuse but know they come in MANY configurations now! IF POSSIBLE, inspect the printed circuit board for any BURNT or open foil paths? If all else fails ~ send it back to the factory for repairs. You should also receive the latest UPGRADES too and hopefully at least a 30 day warranty?

best thing i can advize you is take the cd player to maplins or halfords tell them what car you have got and they will give you the right leads to join on to the manufactures leads so it is just a matter of pins in pull radio out that you wish to change connect universal leads to loom push cd player back in without jamming wires and away you go also ebay is pretty reasonble on audio leads if you know which 1 u want hope info is usefull

It would be much easier to simply heat up the solder connections and get them to make contact if possible. A picture of the problem would really be a huge help. Many people have these types of amps and you might find some one that will sell you the parts you need but without a picture it's hard to say if they will be exact matches.

I have some music and

The sound issue could be due to the offset not being set correctly there should be an option for that on the stereo functions. Depending on the units capability's from a format stand point that could be the issue, check and see what type of files are on the card. Then see what kind your receiver accepts, then if they do accept them find another way to make sure the Sd card is viewable. The slot may be damaged.

I was thinkin bout buyin

Here are your specs. RMS 900 Watts Nominal and Max 1300 on 2 Channel @ 2 Ohms.
4 Gauge should do fine but if you like to feed the beast go with 2 gauge.
Looks like going rate is $110 on Amazon or elsewhere.
If it attains the RMS wattage it would be a good amp. I like monoblocks but
you will pay more. I looked into Tri-Mode and it is straight forward but people
are having problems figuring it out. With your 2 speaker operation you should
avoid the issues others are having.
Good luck and remember, rearview mirrors were meant to fall off!
Mine: JL 1800A monoblock into 2-JL 12" W3's in series for low bass 20-80 Hz; Lanzar Vibe 266 bridged into 2-12" Memphis in series for mid bass 40-200m Hz. 2 guage wire to mononblock-250 amp fused at battery, 4 guage to Vibe w/250 amp at battery.

Protection light keeps comin on

Unfortunately, P/A does not release schematics - even to repair techs. You have to find a knowledgeable repairman, or ship it to P/A.

1-888-990-1236 for support, and RA# info.

Plan to be without your amplifier, as NEW WARRANTY repairs are backlogged approx. 6 mo.

Rule out external problems by hooking it up to an isolated bench power supply.

If planning on doing your own repairs, see this site for info.

P/A has an ONLINE SUPPORT WEBSITE to order parts etc, and may be a useful resource as well. Do some fishing, and you may find what you're looking for.

I will too, and post any findings.
