Sansui LCDW2300 23 in. Television Questions & Answers
Please why is my Samsung LCD red power light on,
I had a similar problem with my Phillips 42 in. LCD HD TV.
Here's the problem. The Power Supply Board. I opened my TV
up(warranty was up of course) and found several bad capacitors.
Phillips and several other companies were sold capacitors that although
were highly rated failed within 5 years because of a lack of
preservatives. All sorts of electronic equipment is now being effected
due to these defective capacitors.
Solutions?
1. Take it in and have it fixed
2. Open it up, check the board for faulty capacitors(bulged or leaking) Buy a new Power supply board and install it.
3. Remove PSB, remove faulty capacitors and replace with compatible new ones.
Hope this helps
Sansui picture fault
Usualy a problem with the LCD screen itself, that takes replacing the whole screen to fix. Sorry.
Could also be an internal connector that has gone bad. There are tiny transistors on most displays that control whole rows and columns. It sounds like one went bad, causing a dead, or constant on, column. Unless you are REALLY handy, it will probably need to go to a service center for repair, which could be very expensive.
Try flexing your screen - wrap a non-fibrous cloth around your
hand and squeeze the screen lightly all around the edge. If you
find a point where squeezing the screen makes things better or
worse, explore that point further. Squeeze just hard enough to
make a white area go light grey or yellow. It's safe to squeeze
gently with something fluffy when the computer is turned-on.
Could be a cable problem - either the cable is not making
a good connection at one end, or the cable itself may have
been crushed and one of the lines in it broken. Replacing the
cable is far cheaper than replacing the display.
Good luck

How do I hook up a VCRDVD player to my sansui flat screen TV and what do I need to do in terms of channels or inputs or setup to get this accomplished
To connect a VCR/DVD player to a Sansui flat screen TV, you will need to use the appropriate cables and connections. Here are the general steps you can follow:
- Check your TV and VCR/DVD player for the available ports. The TV should have RCA composite video and audio inputs, and the VCR/DVD player should have RCA composite video and audio outputs, or HDMI port.
- Using the appropriate cables, connect the RCA composite video and audio outputs from the VCR/DVD player to the corresponding RCA composite video and audio inputs on the TV. If your VCR/DVD player has HDMI port, use HDMI cable to connect the TV and the VCR/DVD player.
- Turn on your TV and VCR/DVD player.
- On your TV, press the "Input" or "Source" button to switch to the input where the RCA composite video and audio cables are connected or HDMI.
- Using the remote of your TV, go to the menu and select the input where the VCR/DVD is connected.
- If you don't see any picture, try adjusting the settings on your TV and VCR/DVD player.
- Once you are able to see the picture on your TV, you should be able to use your VCR/DVD player as you normally would.
