ive tried to find the drivers for you on brothers homepage but apparently it only supports the 1870 so i was incapable of finding what you need. You may get lucky and find the drivers you need from a 3rd party site like this one ,since brother doesn't have them. However, it seems more likely to me that without the install disk or the possibility of locating the drivers directly from brothers website you will have to resort to a third party site like this one.http://www.pcdriverupdate.com/printerlisting/brother.html,

If the drivers found on any third party site aren't doing the trick then you will probably most likely need to go out and buy a new pc considering the 1770 is an outdated model. Just make sure you start looking before you consider buying...who knows you may get lucky.

You can reset the toner cartridges via the printer's menu.

Try scanning at a lower DPI setting. The machine is only rated to a certain DPI which is how much information it can handle per inch. Lower the DPI the more pixilated an image you get becomes when blown up but unless you are planning on printing 6/4 photos in A3 size then 600-1200 DPI is plenty.

The scanner unit is faulty or the flat harness was not fitted properly to the main board.

Load the envelopes in like paper, tell the printer the size of these to set the paper size, then whatever you're using to print on the envelopes, set up the page size the same size as the envelopes. You should then be able to print on envelopes

for the document you want to print click on print and your printer should show up now just click on the printer and look down where it says use printer offline and click on it again and than it will say use printer online and just print from there ok please dont forget to rate this solution for me

Right-click on the printer in the folder and uncheck the "Use Printer Offline" option to place your printer online and available.

Try universal uninstalling printer, thethen run found new hardware wizard.
