Sansui VRDVD4005 DVD Player/VCR - Page 7 Questions & Answers
Player keeps saying no disc why?
there r two reasons that the player says no disc on display.
1)the disc which you insert in your player is really not redable.check out that disc in any other player and confirm whether its working or showing the same fault in other player too.
2)the disc may be perfectly all right, but the lens in the player which reads the disc is either got dusty or the lens is turned faulty.
for dussty lens you can clean it with tissue paper and check out .but for the faulty lens its necessary to replace the lens.thats a costly issue.
Dvd not playing
Welcome to Fixya! Have you tried the Cleaning Disk that you can get at Most Radio Shacks???? Works really good on mine whenever it does this!
Won't play DVDs or CDs at all. Reads error code C-104.
Sansui VRDVD4005 will record DVDs provided they are DVD-R NOT DVD+R. I have one of these for 3 going on 4 years and I took it apart and cleaned the dust off the magnetic hub and that worked for awhile but (2-3 months) now I'm having trouble finalizing again. Someone on this site said it needs 8x NOT 16x disks ... 'cause it's an older unit ... I'm checking it out in the users manuel.

My dvd shows all my movies in black & white
you need to move the S Video switch in back to the left and the (yellow) video cable needs to be in the DVD/VCR Output onthe right side. We just had this problem and did this and now we have COLOR!!!!

OH & I never had this problem we never got a manual with this or we cant find it
Sansui DVD Vcr combo wont play Dvd's model no. VrdVD4005
you will need to run a cleaning disk in it , if that won't work then it will have to be taken apart to clean the laser eye manually
which then if you can't do this then you will need to take it to a local repair shop where they can do it

Discs will not play on any other machine
I have the same problem with a brand new HP Pavilion PC running Windows Vista with a LightScribe DVD reader. I downloaded the latest driver from LightScribe, but the system refuses to recognize it. A request for help from HP hasn't been answered yet.
My son has the same problem with his custom machine running Windows XP.
Fix for various problems
I've seen various problems get resolved with Computers, Digital
Cable Boxes, Routers, and Satellite Receivers by simply unplugging
the unit. If all else fails, give it a try. For my Sansui VRDVD4005, I
unplug it and wait about 10 minutes, then sometimes wait 30 minutes
or more for the "auto clock" setting to return.( AS IF IT WERE JUST
TAKEN OUT OF THE BOX) You can set the clock manually if you
don't want to wait when it starts blinking and you will have to set
up your channels again. This has fixed DVD freeze-ups, VCR timer
recording problems, and all the C### error codes in the troubleshooting
section for my unit at one time or another. Good Luck to all.
