Brother HL-2070N Laser Printer - Page 5 Questions & Answers
Toner light will not go off and have replaced
Hello Rapidlube,
This problem is a common issue and easily fixed.
When putting in a new toner cartridge, the printer usually automatically resets the toner count.
In a situation like this, the printer did not automatically do the reset and so we must manually reset the printer.
To manually reset the printer, first, remove the toner from the printer and separate it from the drum unit.
With the toner cartridge in hand and the brother writing facing you, look to the left side of the cartridge. You should see an arc shaped opening with a white tab in it.
The tab is set at the right position and must be pushed back to the left side of the opening.
To push the tab back, you must turn the grey gear attached to the front roller upwards as you push the tab.
Once the tab has been placed to the left position, the printer will accept it as a new toner cartridge.
I always have paper jamed after i pull the paper
Hello there
You can try this it good little trick.
This may work for you, it has worked for many here I given this advice so gave it a try it could work for you.
Generally when this happens, something has fallen into the printer, or a piece of paper has been jammed in there.
First step, remove the ink cartridge, and turn the printer upside down and gently shake it, see if anything comes out.
If nothing goes, or you can't hear anything rattling around, get a piece of cardstock paper (60lb or heavier) and gently push this through the printer, to see if it will help push out what might be stuck in there.
And gave the rode that the ink slides on a good clean and maybe a bit oil on cloth and wipe the rod with it.
Please come back and just gave a vote, it will gave me some satisfaction to know am helping some one so I will keep on helping.

Yes pressing the go button gives the actual error, the toner light being on when you press go tells me that there's a fuser error. Either the heater lamp is burned out, or one of the overtemp sensors has been tripped, or the power supply is not turning on the fuser. I would replace the fuser first if you have no way of testing the parts in the fuser. You can find a fuser at

Laser printer horizontal streaks go away after a few pages
The operating principles behind laser printers are fairly simple. In fact, Brother machines more closely resemble large copiers than conventional laser printers, this is why they are so reliable.
There are a couple of things to look at:
On the drum unit: is the imaging drum worn or scratched? When did you last clean the corona wire?
If the drum is scratched or otherwise with defect it should be replaced. If the corona wire is dirty it can fail to properly charge the drum and lead to print defects.
On the toner cartridge: Does the toner roller have any noticeable lines or banding in the toner?
Behind the toner roller is a "Doctor Blade" that ensures an even and consistent coating of toner. If there are lines in it they can produce print defects as well. Lines would be likely caused by toner accumulation on that blade. If there are lines, are you are careful, you may be able to clean the blade by gently and slowly scrubbing the non adhesive end of a post-it note between the toner roller and the doctor blade where the lines are.

Just replaced Netgear WebSafe router with Linksys
Reset printer to factory settings according to manual. Plugged in ethernet cable directly to router. Ran BRAdmin which recognized printer and saw that IP address had been automatically set within new router range. Changed setting to STATIC. Deleted old printer definition from printer list and added updated definition using Printer Setup Utility. Printed test page from BRAdmin. Also printed file from Documents folder wirelessly. Changed printer settings in another laptop & was able to print wirelessly from there as well.
Paper feed only works manual
I think you have a paper jam or some other tiny objects like a paper clip or the like blocking the ADF(Automatic Document Feeder) roller. You should open your ADF and check for anything obstructing the roller. If you see something just pull it off close the ADF and turn on the printer.
Good luck,
Sai.
Ran out of paper, tried to print four files and
- Turn the printer off and on to see if it can automatically clear
some or all of the jam. Many printers provide an error-code listing on
the front panel display for the area where the jam occurred. If your
printer shows an error code, be sure and check the printer manual to
see if that identifies the area of the printer where the jam occurred.
-
Step 2
Turn off the printer.
-
Step 3
Remove any paper trays. Inspect them for wrinkled or damaged paper.
-
Step 4
Open any other doors that give access to the printer's paper path and to the toner or ink cartridge.
-
Step 5
If necessary, remove the toner or ink cartridge. Place it in a bag or away from light to avoid damaging it.
-
Step 6
If
you find a piece of jammed paper, remove it by holding it with both
hands and pulling firmly (see A). The goal is to keep the paper from
tearing. If several pieces are jammed together, try pulling out the
middle piece first to loosen the jam.
-
Step 7
If the paper does tear, try rotating the roller gears manually to free the paper (see B). Don't force anything, though.
-
Step 8
Replace the toner or ink cartridge and paper trays, close any doors you opened and turn the printer back on.
-
Step 9
If the printer paper jam message still appears, then there is still some paper in the printer. Reinspect the paper path.
