Silly question first - is the drum unit DR2225 installed? Check the toner cartridge sits firmly in the drum and that the drum is pushed all the way forward in the internal cavity. If the paper is jamming at the paper pick up roller ie in the paper tray, clean the paper pick up roller with a drop of meths and a drop of detergent on a damp cloth. If the paper jams in the drum unit, check the clear plastic guide flaps are straight and do not catch the paper. Also check that there is not a piece of paper caught in the drum unit. If the paper gets part way through the drum and then jams, check the fuser at the back for a piece of paper crumpled up inside the fuser. If the printer is trying to take ALL the paper at once, check and clean the paper separation shoe in the paper tray.

You have a worn image drum. The drum is the part of the printer that the print image is created on before it transfers the toner to the paper. This part is coated with a very thin layer of Teflon so the toner does not stick. When it gets worn the toner starts to stick and that produces the shadow or ghost image approximately 3 inches down the page because the diameter of the drum roller is 3 inches. You will need to get the part DR-350, Office Depot has them as well as many places on the internet.

Remove left cover (where the USB connection is located);Remove gear with a spring on it (you may need to unscrew the PCB that partially covers it);There is a clutch that sticks to the rubber pad behind this gear. Turn off your printer. Open the back cover Slam it shut - not hard enough to break it Turn on printer If you still have error, you most likely have a defective sensor for the back cover and will take a professional repair.

DO a factory reset

First check again if cover closed properly. If message does not go, Switch off the machine at the outlet and re-connect. It might re-set. If that does not work, try re-set button in the panel and lastly check troubleshoot in the manual. Good luck

To load paper or other media in the Manual Feed Slot (directly above the Paper Tray)

You can load envelopes and special print media one at a time into this slot. Use the manual feed slot to print or copy on labels, envelopes or thicker paper.

1. Slide the paper guides to fit the paper size.
2. Using both hands put one sheet of paper in the manual feed slot until you feel the front edge of the paper touch the paper feed roller. Let go of the paper when you feel the machine feed the paper in a short distance.



Note: When you put paper in the manual feed slot, please remember the following:
■ The side to be printed on must be face up.
■ Put the leading edge (top of the paper) in first and push it gently into the slot.
■ Make sure that the paper is straight and in the proper position on the manual feed slot. If it is not, the paper may not be fed properly, resulting in a skewed printout or a paper jam.
■ Do not put more than one sheet or envelope in the manual feed slot at a time or you may cause the machine to jam.
■ You can remove smaller sizes of printed paper from the output paper tray more easily if you lift the scanner cover using both hands as shown in the illustration.

You can still use the machine when the scanner cover is raised. You can return the scanner cover to its home position by pushing it down with both hands.



If you would like to disable Manual Feed Mode, check that the manual feed mode is not selected in the printer driver.

did you reset the toner life?

open the front cover, press the option button, on the screen will display ''reset toner life 1 yes 2 no ''
press 1 and close the cover.

You need to do a factory reset (all) or try a memory clear of print data (partial).Some one would have to walk you through it over the phone, or send it in to be done.should only be done by a service person.I cant post my email on here so not sure how to get in touch with you.

Since the problem occurs only when you use the ADF, the problem is with the ADF assembly.

1. Open the ADF.
2. Check for any small paper or object that can block the entry in the ADF.
3. Clean the rollers.

It sounds to me like you have a bad or worn out ribbon roll..check it and see if there are any creases

This is a well known fault on this model. unfortunately it is the main board at fault. It needs a new one. Srri

The message that ask you to manually feed the paper will appear if you have recently printed on a different type of media.
Does this happen from only one application like Microsoft Word? If it does try printing a test page or a document from other application like Notepad or Wordpad.
If the same issue occurs go to the Printers folder (under control panel) then right click on your Brother printer icon, left click on Properties, click on Printing Preferences and make sure that Tray 1 is selected for the tray, Plain paper for paper type. If changes have been made make sure to click on the apply button to apply the changes.
If it only happens to one application like Microsoft Word. Click on File ( or the orb icon on the upper left hand corner) then Print, then Print again click on Printing Preferences and make sure Tray 1 is selected and Plain Paper.

clean the glass, especially the little glass. at left side of you, if using feeder all paper pass it.
if not changed it's mean the lifetime drum is over.

clean the drive wheels that pull the paper in, they get shiny after a lot of use, use a alcahol pad to clean
