HOW TO TAKE BROTHER PRINTER

Hi there!
The message that ask you to manually feed the paper will appear if you have recently printed on a different type of media.
Does this happen from only one application like Microsoft Word? If it does try printing a test page or a document from other application like Notepad or Wordpad.
If the same issue occurs go to the Printers folder (under control panel) then right click on your Brother printer icon, left click on Properties, click on Printing Preferences and make sure that Tray 1 is selected for the tray, Plain paper for paper type. If changes have been made make sure to click on the apply button to apply the changes.
If it only happens to one application like Microsoft Word. Click on File ( or the orb icon on the upper left hand corner) then Print, then Print again click on Printing Preferences and make sure Tray 1 is selected and Plain Paper.
Hope this helps! Thanks

New toner but printed output

Hi there !

You need to replace the drum unit of the cartridge and i believe that the part life had ended. you can view this on the LCD monitor of the printer. Go to menu and choose LAN setting. Choose machine parts and check the drum unit is it says life ended. You need to replace that drum unit.

Another way for temporary purposes, set your print quality setting to PHOTO setting. It will print darker than before but not on taking photocopy.

Ghost Image of the address

Hello,

Ghosting is caused by a worn drum unit. The printer drum is used to transfer the image to the paper and is coated with Teflon, when the coating is worn the toner sticks to it a bit and you get the ghost images. The part number you need to get for the replacement is DR350, they are available online or at Office Depot, Staples, Etc.

I hope this helps, if so please rate our solution.

Brother MFC7820N when a laser jet printer worms up

The rollers are worn out or dried out and may need to be replaced, if available from Brother. In my experience, if the rollers are shrunken, over the years, they will pull more than one sheet of paper due to tension not being as high as normal. Also, fan the paper before putting it in the tray to reduce the likeliehood of this happening.

Good luck on this repair.

MFC7820N has accordion pleated paper jams in the

I had the same problem for a few days. The paper only makes it a couple inches through the last rollers entering the output tray and the rest of the paper forms pleats like accordian bellows. This started to happen nearly every time. Changing the paper, toner and drum as well as cleaning do not help. Lift the scanner, which covers the output tray, and watch to see that the rollers at the back of the tray are actually turning when printing. If they are turning, then the paper should come right through into the output tray without forming pleats. You can push down on the four spring loaded bottom rollers at the back of the output tray to check that they will let paper through. My printer stopped making the pleated sheets.

I assume by software you mean drivers. The drivers for your printer and the Driver Deployment Wizard can be found here:

After changing the cartidge to a brand new one the

ok here is the procedure for that.

1) open the front cover of the printer ..that is the cover that allows you to pull out the drum/toner, but leave them inside the machine

2)push the options button:located on the left side of the control pad)

3) type *00 on the keypad

this will reset the printer and the "toner end of life" message should go away, leaving your printer thinking it is brand new again !

    There is a black vertical

    Hi,

    Follow the below steps :-

    1. Turn off the power switch.
    2. Open the flat bes scanner cover.
    3. Get a lint free cloth such as a coffee filter or paper towel.
    4. Get isopropryl alcohol (greater than 90% is best).
    5. Dampen the cloth with the alcohol.
    6. Locate the smaller, rectangular glass window, on the left side of the flat bed scanner glass.
    7. Clean the glass.
    8. Don't forget to dry the glass too.
    9. Turn the machine back on.
In my experience, this will fix this kind of problem, in more than 90% of the cases.

If the problem persists, you need to get the unit repaired. This is because of some problem in the Tube, CCD problem or maybe in circuit board. It is related to the hardware that illuminates the paper and the hardware that absorbs the reflected light to take a image of the paper and store it.

[ Light Tube = one which emits light on the paper. There will be 2 separate ones for the feeder mechanism and for the flat glass one.
CCD = charge coupling device and its job is to convert the scanned image to digital form. ]

This is not a software problem, else you even the copies from glass bed would be bad. And so, you need physical intervention by some professional and repair/replacement of parts.

Let me know,if needed further assistance.

    Hope i helped you.

Thanks for using ' Fixya ' and have a nice day!!

    Accordion pleated paper jams

There are small black rollers just where the paper exits the machine. These become hard & shiny. Scrub them with green scouring pad moistened with an alcohol based cleaning fluid then dry them off. If they are now black & tacky your problem should be solved.

Prints a black streak whether I copy, or print,

Try cleaning the corona wire of the drum unit.

You need to open the front cover of the machine and remove the cartridge (drum and toner) On the top right there is a tab that you need to slide from left to right about 20 times, then bring back to home position
