I, too, have no power
Hi,
if it does not power up, then it means its having a power problem. It might have worked fine in the past, but that's electronics for you. Power surge, irregular power supply, excess power supply, etc can affect the unit thereby not making it to power on.
This unit must have a power supply board in it where power enters from the mains. A capacitor, fuse, diode, etc may have been defective on the power board and maybe that's why its not making the unit turn on. There might also be some disconnection or something, inside the unit which is not making it to power on.
To actually find out what's wrong, you need to disassemble the unit with a screw driver and check what's wrong. You will be needing a meter in order to test the components on the power board, once you detect any bad component, you can make necessary replacement at any electronics accessories store withing our vicinity. This is the only way by which you can detect the problem.
Of course, testing the power board with a meter will require someone that has the ability. So it you can't, then you might be needing the help of a repairman or you can call a friend that has the ability to help you out.
I wish you the best of luck.
Infocus lp640 is broken. no lights. nothing.
Hello, If there is absolutely no sign of life at all just like it would look if it were unplugged...
The problem is a diode on the switching power supply at the rear of the projector. It's easy to fix if you know where it is. PS There is a 99.999% probability that the Diode is the problem and not a fuse..
Cheers
Error "Fan Stopped"
yes. it needs the third wire to sense the fan speed. without it, the projector assumes that the fan is not running.
When turned on the projector lamp gives off a
You probably just have to change the bulb n the lamp, if it has been over 5 years since that has been done, I would recommend it, as it will greatly improve the quality of picture coming from the projector
I have an Infocus LP640
sounds like the clicking may be the high voltage trying to ignite the lamp. when it does come on the picture is very bad. Did the lamp seem to shine very brightly through the fan vent when it did come on that time when the picture was dim.
How many hours has the lamp been used for.
Check the air filter for dust etc.
See if you can borrow a spare lamp, and test it in the machine

If you can, confirm the output of the power source! if you have +/- 0V on all outputs then you may have a defective schottky, verify if all 4 diodes on the
secondary are ok ( you can spot a bad one by the short circuit on the 2
terminals).
The power supply of the lp640 has a protection derived by the functions of TOP
2XX witch in overload stops. therefore disabling the shorted output.
Verify the state of the fuses also.
Good luck out there ,
In Focus LP 640 won't even turn on? Any help
There are several reasons this could happen, and can usually be identified by glancing at the Power LED. The following applies to this particular projector:
1) Blinking RED led- Lamp or fan failure. Usually this is a bulb issue and simply needs the lamp replaced and the lamp life hours reset. Below you will find an image from the owners manual that will allow you to translate the # of times the LED blinks into a problem/solution
2) Solid Red LED means unidentifiable error. You will need to contact customer support at that point to schedule service.
