I realize you stated that you had everything disconnected and then reconnected it, but everytime I see this same issue- it's typically resolved by unplugging power to the main Bose unit for 60 minutes which resets the microprocessor.

This is a common problem on this set. If this would not resolve the problem, this is an internal problem and needs repair. Be advised that repair of this set needs a tech to have the complete knowledge of Bose products and would need to have an access to the service manual. Do not ever try to get the set repaired from local shops as they tend to make the situation more worse.Either contact Bose or repair center which knows about the same such as :-

In the past, Bose does repair the units for flat $99.00, so worth calling and checking the same with Bose.

Yes there is a fuse inside the unit.
But it was not expecting a 220 jolt. And it may have fry-ed it. It would be about the same as if it were hit by lighting during a bad storm. Say a prayer. I would say you have a case , with your contractor. Good luck DFD

You COULD slave your Bose to the TV's version of audio via the TV's digital audio output but WHY? The best audio will always come directly from the source (cable/DVD/BD/game/etc) so run the highest quality audio directly into the Bose from them and the highest resolution video directly to the TV from them. Let the specilized electronics in each do what it does best without intervening connections and alteration.

Hi, it is possible. All you need to do is get a two to one RCA cable. (one side RCA that has two mouths stereo, and the other side will have a jack mouth that will go into the ipod.

Connect the RCA cable to the output of the bose lifestyle system and connect the jack to the input of the ipod(where you plug your ear phone in.).

After that, set the bose to AUX. and you can start playing songs in no time.

Sure, you can hook up any mp3 player to this system. What you will need is a headphone to stereo RCA cable. Then, plug the headphone connection into the mp3 headphone jack and the RCA ends into your Bose aux input.You can use any of the inputs (Video 1, 2, Tape) just remember which one you are plugged into.

Question edited for clarity. It is a 'Pyle' not a 'Pile'. It is under warranty. Return it, an internal component has failed probably an electrolytic capacitor. One thing you can try is to disconnect it and move it to another room to discount EMF from something. ..
