Have a look at the hi-fi magazines. They have plenty of reviews of them. Or you can just do an Amazon search and select by customer reviews. I tend to to do this with all electrical stuff anyway. Even if I don't buy from Amazon. The customer reviews, when in large numbers can give clues to how good or reliable anything is.

Display screen led light wont come on

If the display has been gradually fading and is now unreadable, the fault is almost certainly loss of emission of the fluorescent display and it will need a replacement display module fitted (at a Bose Service Centre) Is there any sign of characters showing in a darkened room? If it has suddenly gone off, with all other radio features are working as normal, but prior to this the display was bright and clear, and the set has not been subjected to a fall or a sudden sharp impact of some kind, (which can crack the display module and cause it to fail) then the most likely possibilities are; a failed filament supply to the display module, a failed high tension supply rail to the display module, or loss of data feed to the display. It is also possible there may be a fault in the day/night brightness switching circuitry that has shut the display down completely. It is not possible to be more specific without seeing the unit, or even knowing which model it is I'm afraid.

Wave radio comes on randomly

Random is truly a difficult problem to solve, if no pattern of failure can be detected. It sounds as though the alarm may be at fault. Is the alarm on and set to radio, CD, or beep? If radio, that could pinpoint the problem. If you have another, mechanical alarm, use it for a couple nights with the Bose Wave alarm off. If the Bose still acts up, then it isn't the alarm. Try unplugging the unit, waiting at least 30 seconds, and plugging it back in, which will cause you to need to reset the alarm. Alternately, remove the Bose cover and blow out dust. I find the Bose susceptible to dust as a cause of malfunction, which may point to the cause being the compact design of the unit. Good luck.

Radio works fine. cd player wont read discs in either of four slots. Message - Disc error.

This can often be solved by opening the cover and blowing on the optical head to displace dust and any debris that is fouling between the optics and the actuator that controls the head position. It isn't fool proof but will fix perhaps 40% of units. Take a can of air duster (aerosol blower) and blow the little pick-up form the distance of about 1 inch. It will bounce around in the wind but don't blow to hard. Give it a gentle blast and then try the player. If it doesn't work then try again this time but blow harder.

CD mecanismo will not regect.

I suggest try to reset your unit... unpluging everything (including unplugging the changer from the radio and the changer from the wall), waiting 30 minutes or more, and then plugging it back together. If this did not help then, unfortunately, the only solution is to take the Bose apart and that's a scary proposition. If you flip it over, you'll notice little plastic "dimples" You'll have to pop each of these which will take the faceplate off.

Once the face plate is off, you'll have to take the Bose cover from the CD Tray off. There'll be the familiar little pinhole under the tray that you can stick a paper clip in and the tray will come back to its position or just put a little pressure on it.OR else.

When the cover is out the mechanisim will be visible. Look for the offending CD. You may have to plug in and cycle the machine. Be careful--no shocks please. Work it. Help it move. The shield may interfere so attend to that. Carefully remove the CD. It WILL be difficult. Clearances are close. Repeat to remove any other CD's.

Carefully see what the door is caught on, or remove whatever debris might be there (hair, dust, etc) use q-tips and toothpicks. It will remove all your disc.

It will fix your problem or else there is broken spinning motor, and your system may need to be service.can be done in any electronics repair shop, contact Bose® Technical Support, or call 1-800-278-1281

Hope it helps.

3cd changer makes clicking sound and will not

first try cleaning it with a cleaning CD and gently blowing air into it to get any dust out. If this still does not fix it your motor might be ceased. To fix that you have to take it apart find the right motor and replace it, or better yet take it in for repair if you want.

The multi disc player doesn't

The problem is in the laser pickup assembly, overtime the laser becomes weaker until it reaches a point it can not track the cd. One option is to purchase a disc cleaning kit to clean the laser lens, that might get it working again. If that fails! I recommend contacting Bose for service because they do not authorize anybody outside of their facility.
