Types partial letters
Hi:Most likely the print solenoid within the carrier is gummed up and sticking. If you remove the ribbon and look inside the left area of the carrier you will see a cylindrical object with a disk on the end of it. This is the print solenoid. If you try to pull the disk back towards you and it hangs up (it should spring back) then that is the problem. With the typewriter off move the carrier by hand all the way to the right. Stuff some rags under the carrier and if you can get some alcohol down on the front and back of the solenoid especially between the disk and the body of the solenoid and move it back and forth you may be able to free it up.Good LuckAndrew

Lexmark Wheelwriter 1000 -Problem with wheel?
A few possibilities: The LED or sensor that looks at the primtwheel is getting weak, There may be debris on or under the PC board, the power supply is weak or rarely the flat white cable to the carrier is bad.None of these are easy repairs, I'm sure we can repair it if you get it to us.DickyO216-241-0027

Wheelwriter 1000 (IBM) beeping
You may have the R. margin there. Space all the way to the right, press R MAR key. You also could have spellcheck on code 1 will turn it off

IBM Wheelwriter 70 memory
You can hook up a standard computer monitor to the typewriter, but it won't recognize color, and sometimes on eBay you can find IBM POS (point of sale) monitors that will work on the typewriter. Do you still have the typewriter?

I just ran across this. Your keyboard is bad. You can try my tip under WW1000 or contact Geo. Beyers Co. @ 800-392-8085 fora rebuild or the KB. Thet are reasonable and good. Tell them O'Reilly sent you.

We have 2 Wheelwriter 1000's
Befor you spend the money look and see if the LANG light is lit on the R. side if it is CODE "L" will get you out of this mode. If that's not the problem I'm sure we can repair them.
