You cant. I have the same issue with an old symphonic. There are some universal remotes that do work it. I found a 3 in 1 rca that did for my tv. Rcu300 was the remote model number.

You get the codes, if any, from the manufacturer of the universal remote. But the universals only offer the most basic functions and do not have provision for input selection, menus, and many more. It sounds that the main system memory IC to your TV is faulty. Even though, this is a very small IC, not cost more, but the function to it when the TV works is great. Replace it.

The threedigit codes will be 220 and 233 and what you will want to do is hold down the clearTV button until all the mode buttons light up. If your Duraband TV has and S-Video socket you can connect the laptop to that socket from your laptop. After connecting it, switch ON both the devices and select the TV input to S-Video. In some duraband sets, this selection can be done with selecting Vodeo-1, Video-2 etc. If the TV is compactable with your Dell, the Logo of Dell will be there on the screen.
