Sears troubleshooting

Sounds like motor is frozen; it happens. Most likely its bad brushes and/or commutator. It will be cheaper to buy new motor or compressor.

Compressor runs to 175psi but

The problem is lilkely the check valve between the compressor and the tank -- it is alowing pressure to build from tank to compressor preventing the compressor from turning over. Clean, maybe replace, check valve...

I replaced the presssure switch, part # Z-AC-0789,

the copper tubing may have a leak or a poor connection at the threads. If flared at the end check for any hairline crack at the flared end. The nut that secures the flared end can be cracked as well

The tank fills with air, but the motor doesn't

Pressure switch is stuck on, dont use this until its fixed!!!!!, you could overfill the tank with excess air, it could be adjustable or the switch may need cleaning/replacing.

My new 80 gallon Craftsman

Problem sounds like the type of oil being used. The oil should be a gold color. It will get dark over time but not like oil in a car. Check your owners manual to be sure that the right oil is being used.

Compressors use a 30 weight non detergent oil. If you don't have a manual Go to any Sears Home and garden Department and they will be able to help you.

Water in the air tank

I don't know about your specific unit, but my compressors have drain valves on the bottom. Mine is like an old radiator drain, but you could have quarter turn valves or screwdriver operated valves, etc. Take a look and post back.

Compressor fills air tank and when it cycle to

try this. When compressor shuts off. TURN OFF POWER. then spin the compressor backwards or forwards until it is off the compression stroke. Turn unit back on. If it doesn't blow the breaker, then it is worth looking into the type of compressor (pump) you have. Many have a "reed valve" and that might be failing, holding the compressor itself under load when it shuts off so that on restart it is under heavy load and the motor draws too many amps to get it started hence blowing the breaker anyway hope this helps

I have a 25 gal.

Hello babeaton, several things can cause that, but, the most common thing is the regulator. let it run again and right ofter it kicks off feel the power cord and see if it's warm to the touch, if so it likely is the regulator. Breakers operate based on the amount of heat generated from current running through the cord/wires.
Good luck my friend!
