How to transfer photos from canon EOS rebel t5 TO laptop
switch off camera , connect to laptop with usb cable, turn on camera, drop down window will ask what to do with photos. If no window , click on start, click on computer, your camera should as a drive , right click and click open on the drop down window .

When moving jpegs from camera to iPad, i'm looking for an app that will allow me to see file names before I select and move photos to iPad without using wifi
You will need to purchase a 3rd party card reader for your iPad. The apple one will only use the iPhoto app and as you know, its very limited. However, below are a few options to choose from Amazon. If you watch the user submitted videos you can see that the file names are prominently displayed during import. These are just 2 I thought might work well and are favorably reviewed but there are plenty to choose from. Amazon com Geekgo SD Card Reader Micro SD USB Memory Card Reader Adapter... Suggest you bypass the software and the camera and just pull the SD card out of the camera and insert into an SD reader on your PC. If your computer doesn't have one, a USB SD card reader is available for less than $10, You'll find your photos in a DCIM folder on the card, and you can use ordinary copy/Paste tools to transfer them from the card to a directory on your computer.

I have conected my smart phone via canon conect. Images transfered from camera,how can i put them into my photo gallery on my phone
Copy photos to a computer (onto a folder on the desktop) then to the phone via a usb cable. Use the windows explorer to move files and not the canon software. When you plug phone into the computer it will come up as another drive, just use explorer to navigate to the folder where your photos should be and paste them there.

The flash on my canon EOS 1100D won't raise, it thinks there's an external flash on, but there's not. Have tried to unjam the leaf spring, but no results. Anyone got a solution?
I experimented this problem on my EOS t2i, send it twice to Canon and I finally found out what causes the problem. If you look closely at your camero shoe flash you will find that one of the two metal spring is bent and press the micro switch that tell your camera that the external flash is still in place even if it is not so. Use a small screwdriver to reshape the metal tab so it will not press the micro switch and your proble will be solved. Keep me informed.

Canon camera is 5 years old. Eventhough battery is fully charged, the display continues to say ..CHARGE BATTERY..... now camera is totally dead .... and no display text telling you to charge batteries
Try this trick. Pull battery and put camera in a zip lock bag and into freezer overnight. Take out and install charged battery and see if there is any change. This worked with a Go-pro I had, unbelievable! Capacitors get old and dry out and these sometimes affect the charge circuit as well as batteries getting old too. Li-po batteries (yours) get old if you use them or not so it may just be an expired battery.
