I have one that I am repairing that has the same problem ... putting 12v on the 6v input shorts the protection diode to ground. I pulled the diode and found it to be shorted and currently sourcing a replacement. Since I don't have a schematic, I am guessing at the part number ... it is a 1N4xxx something, I think ... hard to read it. I'm pretty sure this is the only problem. If you are not an electronics tech, I don't recommend trying to replace the diode yourself. It requires a major disassembly of the radio.

The Sangean ANT-60 comes with an adapter that lets you clamp onto the existing antenna on your S350. Using this adapter and the clip provided will be a good enough connection. The S350 does not come with an external antenna connection port for a 1/8" mini plug antenna so this necessitates the use of that adapter and clip.

Is there any easy self-fix that can be done to get the radio working again?

Nope. I'll bet you have some corrosion inside the switch itself.
Unless you can disassemble that you will have to send it in. If the switch had metal contacts, you could try just a tiny shot of cleaner in the switch, then work it off and on.

If you are able to get to the switchs' contacts, you can short those and see if the radio powers up. Just make sure that you have the right connections.

Bad idea bout wpraying it down with cleaner. If that suff gets in the coild or other parts like the tiny tuning capacitor, it can melt together inside, or at least cause it to be off frequency.

No, problem with power supply possible bad electrolytics needs to be repaired by servicer.

The problem you are having may be due to some configuration settings (such as a timer). Not dtecting the AM signal, may be due to interference from power lines. To improve AM reception (if there is something to improve) one should rotate the radio to orient the internal ferrite antenna. Using the radio close to a window can improve reception.
To enable you to diagnose the problems that may be due to some configuration setting I give you the link to the radio's manual.

You have to buy a replacement telescopic ant.,open the radio and re-solder accordingly.

Check the battery connections, try using the power adapter or do a reset.

Anything could happen in a fall, no telling what needs attention, could be a bad battery connection a cracked circuit board. If it is under warranty send it in if not a good technician is needed.

No fuse, make sure your batteries are good first.

Plus there is more specific information regarding setting the time and alarm at chapter 11 and 13.

SETTING THE TIME

The radio must be switched off.

With the radio off hold down the "TIME" button for 3 seconds and then release it, the time display will flash.

Whilst it is flashing, press the hour and minute button until the correct time is shown, immediatly press the "TIME" button to finalize the entry.

If the "TIME" button is not pressed the radio will automatically finalize the time after 5 seconds.

SETTING THE ALARM

With the radio powered off, hold down the "ALARM" button for about 3 seconds or until the digits start flashing, then release it.

While they are still flashing, press the "HOUR" and "MINUTE" buttons to set the turn on time, then immediatly press the "ALARM" button.

To activate/de-activate the turn-on-timer, press the AL on/off button, causing the symbol of a speaker to appear in the upper right of the display.

When the speaer is on the screen the ALARM is activated, when it is not on the display the ALARM is de-actiaved.

To see the Turn-on-Time, with teh radio on or off, press the ALARM button, The turn on time will display for about 4 seconds..

The band switch does not make a proper connection at SW3. Replaced,and OK.

1. run 18 gauge wire (buy in auto parts shelf), after stripping plastic (about 1/2 inch) away from wire inside. Clip where RED clip is, on back of radio. Need about 6 to 10 feet. Run wire in upwards direction from radio. At other end of wire, strip enough to make small loop back onto itself. (terminates the wire.) Run another length of same wire from BLACK clip on back of radio, strung along floor of room - 6 feet, maybe. Yes, hide it if it does not please somebody's eyes. Now, you have an AM external antenna.
2. Go to E-Bay, "slinkyantennas". They have a very good-looking, and performs for DX'ing antenna. Use same wire from RED clip, stripped, for alligator clip from 'slinky' shop's antenna to grab hold.

--With s350dl (NPR version-before major t-storm did kaputs, learned good lesson ... always use batteries, not A/C), and slinky pvc-style antenna with ground wire, was able from Central Louisiana, to pick up KOA from Denver!
