Will not drain

Hi
Dishwasher not draining issue usually occurs due to kinked drain pipe, clogged drain filter or drain pump. Check the drain hose for any visible clogging, remove if present. If no visible lint is present then remove then turn off the dishwasher and remove the drain hose and check for any visible clogging. If still not visible then the drain filter or drain pump is clogged and you'll need to clean the drain filter and drain pump. Also, check for any food pieces stuck near the pump impeller.
Please note that dishwashers don't drain out the complete water such that heating element doesn't overheat. Hope this helps... Please post back for any further assistance.

The soap remains inside the dispenser, thus door

What you have is a faulty cycle timer. Replace this and your dispenser will dispense the soap when prompted.

Top rack not getting water or washed

Check (or have someone check) your impeller - it is probably located under a cover in the bottom of the dishwasher - you might need a hex screwdriver to access it.

Anyway, this needs to spin, if it's stuck, your water pressure goes WAY down, and the top rack just gets a little wet instead of sprayed.

Pump won't stay in the

Hello,

Welcome to FixYa.

I can tell you the clean lite issue is typically an indication of poor water circulation and it actually means a heating error occurred...but as I said it can't heat if the water doesn't circulate properly.

As for the other part of your problem, I'm not clear on what it is you're referring to. Do you mean the drain pump, as shown here...

macmarkus_402.jpg
Or the main wash motor & pump assembly shown here...shown upside down of course,

Hopefully once we can clarify the issue I'll be able to help and will in whatever manner I can.

Regards,

Macmarkus :)

Check the following:
- The Salt Container - Found at the bottom of the Dishwasher. (If required, replenish salt)
- The spray arms (They usually get clogged at the small holes where the water should spray out of)
- Us less heat (High heat can leave white visible stains on glass)

Hope this helps :-) - J.Q

White coating on glasses, silverware and door of

If you have hard water, glasses can look spotted and cloudy even after cleaning. Sometimes changing the dishwasher detergent can help. The easiest solution to clearing up glasses that start to look cloudy is to add some vinegar to the bottom of the dishwasher before you start a cycle. Simply add 1/4 of white vinegar and it will clear up your glasses very well.
You should see marked improvement after the first time you do this. If they are not crystal clear then simply repeat the process until all of the cloudiness is gone. In fact I recommend to using a little vinegar in each cycle to maintain the clarity of the glass.

Note: you can pre-test this by rubbing some vinegar on an individual glass with a cloth. If you cannot remove the cloudiness by soaking it and rubbing vinegar on it then it is possible that the glass is etched due to harsh or cheap dishwasher detergent and vinegar will not solve the problem.

Melted a spoon on element. What can I do to remove

The way to remove it is you need to raise the temprature of the element to the level when the spoon melted, not so easy of a task, but nothing else will do it.

I would fire the element, and be ready with a damp terry cloth towel, and wipe the spoon free. Another way would be to use a propane torch, but you MUST protect everything around the element or you will cause more damage.

The key is that you have to acheive the same temprature that melted the spoon, and it will release and leave little, if any residue..

My dishwasher will not drain unless I push cancel

Hello & Welcome to FixYa

As the water did not drain completely then check the drain hose & drain pump filter for any clogs/obstructions, to do this you'll have to take the front bottom panel out and then clean it completely. If you have already cleaned these parts and the unit will not work then replacing the drain pump is recommended repair. Please get back to me if you have any other questions.
