Garland H286 Gas Kitchen Range Questions & Answers
What can go wrong with a garland thermocouple?
Make sure the thermocouple is screwed securely into the safety valve... it is a -tiny- voltage and a small loss can drop the pilot. Also make sure the pilot flame covers the last 1/3 of the thermocouple element, you don't wan to cover the whole thing. Check for errant air currents that might be blowing the pilot out.
Hi need to convert garland
There are kits you can buy to switch out the orifices. Check the back of the stove and see if there is a metal piece that has orifices mounted to it. Some come with these. Ask your local gas company if they have the ones you need. They usually keep them in stock.
Pilot lgiht in oven keps going out restarted it
This is a common problem in newer homes. The gas in your line has air mixed in with the gas and there is enough air in the lines, that when the air comes up to the valve, it will come out, but it will not burn, thus blowing out your flame.
You can usually see that the flame is yellow or white, not blue, if it has air pockets in the line.
If you have a constant and full blue flame at all times, you may also have a leak in your gas lines, in which case, you will need to call a certified plumber or heating/cooling tech in your area to repair the leak, right away.
Do no light open flames if you smell the odor of rotten eggs, this also may be cause for concern that your leak is located where your connections are behind your range.

You can clean the parts all with regular dish soap. The oven you can use Easy-Off oven cleaner. And the stainless parts you can get stainless steel cleaner at any grocery store.
Where can i get parts for a garland starfire gas oven
Our oven pilot light will not stay on - we have to relight all the time. We have had the thermocouples replaced already and it is only two years old. The seller will no longer work on it for us. Says it is our fault in that we MUST be doing something wrong.
Pilot relighting Garland Commercial range
The main burner valve is the oven valve. The pilot will be next to the burner and you either have to insert a long shiskabob stick ( lit) into the hole or lift up on the bottom of the oven (inside) and you will see the pilot.
Oven pilot light won't light
It is usually a bad thermocouple. Mine had only had a weak pilot flame and the problem turned out to be a corroded and leaking pilot gas line. It was leaking whee it enters at the bottom of the oven chamber.
The oven temperature never reaches set
If the temperature can be controlled at this actual temperature there is very little to worry, your thermostat was manufactured with minor non-conformity in quality (meaning slightly defective product) To solve your worries, calibrate the thermostat then make a new marking to where the temperature is actual or closest to the measured one.
Same Problem
