KitchenAid Architect II Superba EQ Series KUDE20FB - Page 9 - Answered Questions & Fixed issues
We used the self-clean function
Try holding the clear button for three seconds to activate the latch, it will move to the unlock position and then you can open the door. Also press clean and then start and then give it about one min and then hit cancel Look at the upper bolt which holds the adjustment of the switches, it may be loose. Check the micro switches, which detect the position of the locking arm and see if they are not closing. Realign the micro switch assembly to close properly and then tightened that bolt to prevent it from locking you out.

Right side of burners spark
Probably the orifices or burners are clogged with food particles or soot.
You can remove the orifices and clean them, check your owner's manual for service procedures.
Probably just have to lift up the hood, they usually pop right off.
The microwave light is out. How do I change it??
I have a kenmore inbuilt and you take the front louver off and the light is under a flap inside. I also have a counter-top model and the only way to get to the lamp is to take the outside case off. On the model I have, there are 8 screws and one of them is tamper resistant, which means that you have to have the correct screwdriver bit to take the case off. Make sure that the unit is UNPLUGGED before you take the case off, and don't touch the electronic stuff. Also don't clean the insides. Get a long life bulb if you can so you don't have to do it again. And make sure the door switch is not bad before you start. Put something in the microwave, turn it on for a few seconds, then open the door a very short distance. The microwave should turn off, and if it doesn't, the door switch is bad.
CAN I INSTALL A DOUBLE WALL OVEN ON THE FLOOR?
Hi,
You will have to check with the installation instructions to be sure but as a rule of thumb the answer is no. The reason being is that most wall ovens vent the heat out the bottom, if it is too close to the floor the heat will damage the floor and can be deflected back up to the fan inlet and cause the oven to overheat and can cause damage.
If you have the complete model number from the tag just inside the door I can find the installation instructions for you.
Oven control lock beeping along with F3:E4
Hi-- The code described; F3 E4 indicates an open circuit- oven sensor. As far as oven problems go this one is easy to fix. -------Unplug sensor and check resistance. Normal is around 1100ohms. ---If open, then replace with new part. <This will solve the problem>. You did not provide any other information besides 'beeping' and 'F3:E4'. A simple Model # from the tag on unit is required for any service or information. However, since this is a specific fault code, the oven temperature sensor is the most likely suspect. Please acknowledge this post. Solution is to replace the oven temperature sensor. Thanks- Ed
My over a kitchenaid supra, the oven door locked
Hello- Try unplugging unit for about a minute, then plug back in. Lock motor should cycle back to open. If not- theres a good chance the door switch is burnt out. Replacing these switches can be tricky, so ya might want to call a tech. Remember- Don't use "self-clean" Techs call this feature "Self-Destruct". Please acknowledge this post if info was helpful- have more if needed.- Thanks-- Ed
We put this unit on self clean and now it wont turn on nor open.
I had the same problem with a Superba wall oven. In my case, the bracket mount for the door lock warped due to the heat of the self clean cycle. We were able to open the door by inserting a coat hanger into the slight opening at the top of the door and sliding the lock lever to the left. It was a pretty easy self-repair -
1) turn off breaker
2) slide oven out 2-3"
3) remove oven front trim pieces
4) remove screws that mount control panel
5) this should give you access to the door lock mechanism.
good luck

We don't know how to turn the oven on! It is a
I fussed with all the knobs and figured it out!( wording on the knobs are gone) but we have it now! I was afraid of ruining something but ended up going for it! Thanks for following up. Lyn
After baking cake & 2 roasts, the oven will
fan oven element video.
1, If the fan motor . in the
back of the oven is going round and the temperature light is on (normally
little red light), but there is no heat then you will probably need a new oven
element, these are generally very easy to fit and readily available from our
website these can be tested with a electric meter.
To gain access to the element .you will
have to remove the back plate from inside the oven. Once removed you will see
the fan and element,. if you
look closely at the element .you will
probably see a small hole burnt in it where it has blown. Sometimes however
there is no evidence of a fault but the element
is open circuit ie:
broken inside the element casing, either way it will need replacing. Some
elements will are fixed from inside the oven and some are held in place by nuts
from the rear of the machine.
2, If your fan oven is getting warm but takes a very
long time to cook or is burning the food more on one side than the other, then
you need to check if your oven fan motor
is working you will
see the blade turning fast if it is ok. if the element is heating but the fan motor is not blowing the heat into the oven then
you need To replace the oven fan motor
is a little more
expensive and a bit more involved.
3. If you have the opposite problem ie: your oven is over heating
and burning everything then you will need to replace your oven thermostat
4, A quite common and easily overlooked answer is if your oven
is not working at all ie: no heat and no fan then the chances are that someone
has put the oven timer
into AUTO mode,
simply put oven back to MANUAL mode and all should be working again.
