This involves accessing a hidden "Service Menu" for the device. Just as a general rule of thumb, I wouldn't really fiddle around too much inside the menu.
To access the service menu:
The buttons involved are with the RIGHT JOYSTICK
and the BAND
button. Push the joystick IN
for OK, LEFT
for previous menu. Pressing the BAND
button is "Main Menu".
The steps are as follows:
- Remove all disks
- Hold RESET and EJECT
- RELEASE RESET, but continue to hold EJECT
- A screen will come up that says "Please press the RESET button"...DO NOT PRESS THE RESET BUTTON!
- Rather than press the reset button, move the joystick in the following directions: UP, RIGHT, UP, RIGHT, DOWN, RIGHT, DOWN, RIGHT.....Then press the joystick IN for OK
- A password screen will come up, ignore it, it'll go away soon.
On the first page of the service menu, you'll see an option "Remocon touch panel test". Navigate to this option using the joystick, then press in on the joystick for "OK". On the next screen that appears, select "Start Calibration". That will start the calibration process.
A few things to note, when drawing the square, be sure to stay about 1/8" INSIDE of the screen bezel, or it won't let you progress. When you're done, select "Confirm Calibration" in the touch panel menu. I haven't really found any information about what to do/how to get out of the service menu, but I'm assuming simply turning it off then back on would suffice
Again, I must warn you to not fiddle around inside the menu too much. Some of the people I got this information from messed up their systems pretty bad by visiting the other menus. My best advice to you is calibrate then leave.
