You do not say how the cards are fed. Are they tractor fed or by sheet feed. I suspect sheet fed and the platen roller has gone shiny. Source a can of platen cleaner to clean the platen roller. DO NOT use alcohol or a spirit based cleaner.

Agree with pcfixup.ca. Remember the software on a pc overrides the printers actual settings.

Am afraid the Power Surge (when the power came back on) has damaged the unit and there is no "Reset" to these printers. You would need to replace the control board but as its a power surge there is a reasonable chance that the power supply will have been damaged/weakened and this will lead to a shortened life span of the printer. I would throw it away and replace with new. sorry, ( I am not a salesman either)

Sounds like the print head is at fault. The print head is actually a vertical line of small wires that move in and out to form the dots as the head moves across the page printing one row of characters at a time. One of the wires has failed. While it is possible that cleaning the print head with contact cleaner will resolve the problem, it might be time to replace the print head, or likely buy a used working replacement printer at less money than the cost to repair.

Have you tried taking out the Platen Roller (big smooth one) and washing it??? Soapy water is fine as long as you rinse & wipe it down to get the soap off... Sometimes the platen rollers slip when dirty and they can cause similar jams.

Most likely, you need to lubricate the shaft the head moves on and clean the positioning tape (carefully, the marks on it can be dissolved).
Unplug the printer while it's moving the head, so you can manually move the head around. Use light oil, such as used in sewing machines.

Sir the printer is giving line because the cartiage or toner is not of good quality so it does not melt properly and produces line while the alarm comes and stop printing is due to the problem in charging cathode or gutter

This machine operates at one speed ... it is not like it has a transmission and you can shift from drive into over drive. There are a few things you can do, however.

You can remove the print driver and reinstall with a fresh copy ... go to www.oki.com/support to get the latest driver available for this printer, which works with your current operating system.

There are features in the driver which will let you make the machine appear faster ... print in draft mode for example ... Your printer may be in HI quality mode and you may select a lesser quality print for another. Since I am not intimately familiar with this particular printer, I can only suggest you go into the printer profile and examine the options you may find acceptable.

To locate the profile, open the control panel, open printer folder, find and open your printer and take a look around.

Thank you for your quesiton this morning @ FixYa.com

This is a "spacing alarm". check that the printhead moves freely from left to right. If not, remove the ribbon and try it again. If it is moving freely then it should be ok, if not it will need most likely the space motor or the main board replaced. In some cases it is also possibly the white carriage cable that runs from your main board to the space motor. Hope this helps.

You didn't mention which document type or from which program you are trying to print but the commands for the printer are normally embedded invisibly in the document and sent to the printer to accomplish font changes, punctuation, etc.
We might have a better answer and a suggestion if you comment back to this thread with the name/version of the program that produced the document.

Generally the form feed character is sent by your software. Try setting the page length in the printer setup to be the length of one label.

Hi,

This types of problem comes due to printer hardware problem but i would like to suggest you that uninstall complete printer driver and reinstall it again after reboot your computer. If you face same issue with printer then you need to contact with hardware vendor or manufacturer.

Thanks
