Faceplate won't open all the way

Sometimes the mechanism is misplaced, just disassemble that mechanism and turn on radio without the secondary plate and wait until the motor to get to the final position when it turns off again, reassemble.

Hello
I've the installation manual for your Pioneer DEHP960MP with me, but it is in a different language, somewhat German I thinks. All the wiring digrams are it it. But I can't upload it to you. as this Fixiya site allows me to upload 50KB only, and the document is in adobe acrobat 9 format, and have about 300KB. If you are interseted, send me your email address through Fixya. I'll send you that file as an atachment. OK.

You need a ribbon cable replacement to the faceplate at the very least.

It's my understanding that there is an ribbon cable that needs to be replaced - it's Pioneer CNP6498 flex cable (CN871 to CN1801) at pacparts.com. Price is less than $9.00, but shipping there is crippling to say the least ($11.50 - WTF??!?!?!)

IF you find that the detachable faceplate also does not work, there is an additional ribbon cable that needs to be replaced. Try "DEH-P960MP" on ebay and you can find a replacement for less than $30 shipped. I received mine in 2 days and had it up and running within 20 minutes. It solved the problem.

Look the replacement cable up on ebay under "DEH-P960MP" and you can find a replacement for less than $30 shipped. I received mine in 2 days and had it up and running within 20 minutes. It solved the problem.

IF you find that the upper face (with the OEL display) also does not work, it's my understanding that there is an additional ribbon cable that needs to be replaced - it's Pioneer CNP6498 flex cable (CN871 to CN1801) at pacparts.com. The other day the detachable wouldn't work right

you probably have a bad switch. if you have a multimeter you can check the resistance of the switches. if one is reading less than a few megaohms, that is probably the bad switch.

Back screen went black front screen and radio

Most likely there is a bad capacitor in the black screen. You will have to test each capacitor to determine which one is faulty. You can purchase a capacitor tester fairly reasonable.

Have a pioneer dehp960mp that barely ejects cds

This is normally due to a sticky load/shuttle mechanism.
its not a simple part that can be replaced by the user.
Most times it can be cleaned - but required disassembly of the unit to do so.
Your local Car Electronics repair center (authorized by Pioneer of course) will be able to disassemble, clean and re-lubricate the shuttle for approximately $35.

For S&Gs - remove the radio and set it on your dash and try it. The angle of installation, or METHOD of improper installation can cause the body to twist, and the mechanism will bind up too. If it ejects normally without being installed - it's the installation - not the unit.

Thanks for using FixYa!!

The deck wont come out is there clips holding it

There are 2 thin slots on either side of the radio allowing pioneer keys to slide in and unlock.
9d01ab1.jpg you can use small allen wrenches or pieces of copper wire as well. Smash it thin with a hammer.

Thanks for using FixYa - a good rating for answering your FREE question is appreciated.

for the most boom out of your kenwood subs go with a nice ported mdf box with the correct air space for your subs. this will make a big difference over just throwing them in any old box. i prefer slot ported boxes over round ports for looks and sound.
