Retire it? Are there no television servicers in your area? Being a tech wizard seems to be a requirement for merely hooking up and operating some systems, but repair is still a valid option for most electronic items. Consult an experienced electronic technician specialized in television repair, another 10 years of operation is possible. Needless disposal only depletes our landfill space.

hi..first check it out the brightness. It is available in the
menu button, available on the top of the tv.If it still doesnt
work Projection TVs have a high intensity lamp as the light

In the center of the console on the tv below the screen there should be a push button you can get to with a paperclip or something similar, however the service mode options are not exactly self explainitory

My set is doing the same thing again. The last time I fixed this (4 years ago) it was a capacitor gone bad in the power supply for the 24v standby circuit. (C166)
The service manuals can be ordered directly from Pioneer Part Number ARP3014 for Pro-100 model.

If the picture looks like you need 3-D glasses to view it, the problem is you have two bad convergence IC's. if that was the case, 450 bucks is a bit steep for this repair. It should run you about 250 to 300 bucks. Good Luck

Could be a few things.First check your sleep timer.Sounds like a fail safe mode that when the tvs left on accidentally it shuts itself down so it wont overheat and die prematurely. The last resort is to remove the circuit board and carefully inspect the solder joints near the power supply with a magnifying glass and a bright light. Then resolder those.

Rachael, The Pioneer PRO-100 is a rear projection 51 inch TV of 1000 lines resolution. I do not know enough about the type of projection to answer this question. They use Liquid Crystal Display panels through which a powerful light shines, or Texas DLP micro-mirrors which reflect the light. As the deflection is digital in nature it does not `die' like a C R Tubed television. Are you saying now it won't come on at all, and shows the red light? I can only think it is like a projector and has fans to cool the lamp. To start with the fan may get squeaky due to a dry bearing (common problem). Eventually the fan will stop or not supply enough air and the lamp will overheat and burn out. They cost 250£ to 450£ to replace.(UHP mercury vapour lamps) In your TV it seems that something in the optics has bad distortion and de-focussing due to the overheated lamp. This could be much more expensive to put right.

As long as you have a HDMI port you should be able to use it. If you have only one, you won't be able to have any other player plugged in. The firestick doesn't care if the port it is plugged into is labeled 1 or 2 or 3
