I cannot record copy-protected tapes to DVD on my RCA DVD recorde

Here is a link to the installation guide for your Pioneer model - refer to every bit of information on p. 29 (which will refer you to some pertinent info in Ch.1): http://www.pioneerelectronics.com/pio/pe/images/portal/cit_11221/98391312Installation%20Guide%20DVR-810HS.pdf

If it will not permit you to do the recording:
You have to use a backdoor method. Inspect your TV and see if it has a yellow jack labelled video OUT or monitor OUT - many TV's do not have them. If you are one of the lucky ones that has a video OUT:
1) Connect a VCR to one of the televisions inputs.
2) Connect a red, white and yellow cable from the video and audio OUTs of your TV to either INPUT 1 or 2 on your DVD recorder
3) Make sure that your DVD recorder is set to either INPUT 1 or INPUT 2 - reading the manual for that model is driving me up the wall - I would change the channel on the DVD Recorder (not the TV) to 2 and use the channel down button until it says Input 1 or Input 2 - whichever the appropriate choice is
4) Play the VHS tape and make sure that you can see the picture on your television screen.
5) Press Record on the DVD recorder

Good luck- I would go insane trying to use that Pioneer - it is user-friendly, but not techie-friendly.

I can't get my tivo to change channels. It stays on the same channel

I believe that you are already on the right path, your tivo will still be assuming that you are running off the cable box plus you watch dancing with the stars for five minutes one time just to see Warren Sapp attempt to dance and now all of a sudden it wants to record every single piece of televison with dance in the title or discription, but I'm not bitter.

Just re-accomplish the set up and let it know that you are no longer running a cable box. Also tell it that ditching you friday night to hang with it's old high school buddies was so not cool.

Pioneer PDP 507XDA 50-inch plasma TV. Sound but no picture. SOME CHANNELS WORK BUT OTHERS IS SCREEN SAVER WITH CHANNEL AUDIO.

Question edited for clarity. Great question Madeleine. The ones with Screen Saver and Audio are in Preview Mode. If you want to watch them, you have to subscribe. It is a tactic to get you hooked and get you to pay. Sometimes they will give you a couple of minutes of video and audio at the beginning of a programme. It isn't a television issue, it is your cable provider and a sales technique. ..

My pioneer 50" plasma tv #PDP 5071 PU won t stay on and the blue ON lite keeps blinking 8 x over and over. Is it dead? Did Comcast update fry it? It started yesterday. I tried unplugging it.

Sorry you're having problems. Offhand the 8 blink code on a Pioneer Plasma translates to an internal communication failure in the TV and generally requires repairs. However it's worth it to try a hard reset, as sometimes the processor in the TV can simply have locked up. The first thing you would try, is disconnect the set from power, then press and hold the power button on the TV itself (not the remote), for 10 seconds and release. Then plug the set back in, and also check that the power cord is connected tight at the TV as well. Press power once, and see if the set powers up normally.

My pioneer amp 820w blinking blue why?

The blue blinking light on your Pioneer amp could indicate a number of issues. One possible reason is that the amp is in "standby" mode, which means that it is not currently receiving any audio signals. Another possibility is that the amp is experiencing an error or malfunction. To get a better understanding of the issue, I would recommend checking the user manual for your Pioneer amp. If you don't have the manual, you can try searching for it online using the model number of your amp. You can also try resetting the amp by unplugging it from the power source for a few minutes and then plugging it back in. If the problem persists, it may be time to take your amp to a professional for repair.

Pioneer vsx1020 wont turn on with telly,if I unplug 15 min from power point does but when turn off telly turn off amp which is good, but if I turn on once again the telly, amp wont turn on

If your Pioneer VSX-1020 receiver is not turning on along with your television, here are a few troubleshooting steps you can try:
  1. Check the power connections: Ensure that the receiver is properly plugged into a power outlet and that the power cable is securely connected to the back of the unit. Also, check if the power outlet is functioning properly by plugging in another device.
  2. Reset the receiver: Perform a soft reset by turning off the receiver, unplugging it from the power source, and waiting for about 15 minutes. Then, plug it back in and turn it on. This can help reset any temporary glitches or issues with the receiver's electronics.
  3. Check the remote control settings: Verify that the remote control is properly set up to control both the television and the receiver. Make sure you have followed the instructions in the receiver's manual for programming the remote control to work with your specific television brand.
  4. Test with a different HDMI cable: If you are using an HDMI connection between the receiver and the television, try using a different HDMI cable to rule out any potential cable issues. Sometimes, a faulty cable can prevent the devices from properly communicating.
  5. Update the firmware: Visit the Pioneer website and check if there are any firmware updates available for your receiver model. Updating the firmware can sometimes resolve compatibility issues and improve overall performance.
  6. Contact customer support: If the issue persists, it may be best to contact Pioneer's customer support for further assistance. They can provide specific troubleshooting steps or advise on whether the receiver may require servicing or repair.
Remember to consult the receiver's manual for additional troubleshooting steps and to ensure you are following the correct procedures for your specific model.

Pioneer VSX-930. The 'FL' light flashing on and off?

FL OFF could indicate a problem with the power supply or the cooling fan inside the receiver. Try unplugging the unit to reset the error code. If the error persists, the receiver needs to be serviced. If the Pioneer VSX-90 is still under warranty (1 year), contact the manufacturer. Otherwise, decide if it is worth fixing (including the shipping costs and minimum service fee). I wish that I had better news for you. (There are service manuals available for sale online. I know nothing about these vendors.)
