Pioneer 1000 Watt 5.1 Surround Sound System System Questions & Answers
Hi .. need to connect
"Component" cable refers to the 3-wire hi-def video connection. It's irrelevant to audio.
Assuming you get all your TV programming through a cable box...
The TV wouldn't actually be a source of audio.
I would advise you to route the Cable Box's BEST DIGITAL audio directly to the Pioneer model number ????? (which would be helpful to know for this conversation).
Run the cable box's normal analog audio to the TV so you can watch it without the Pioneer turned on.
And route the best Cable Video (HDMI, Component?) directly to the TV. Unnecessary paths through the receiver can degrade the signal.
I have a pioneer amplifier that does not turn on.
A precise model and make might yield more-specific answer.
Generally speaking, an amp protects itself from heat, shorts and overloads.
Overloads can be from excessive periods of high output and shorts would be wiring issues or a speaker blowing up.
You should be able to feel if it's hot. WHY is it overheating? Make sure it has sufficient ventilation on all sides and that vent holes are not blocked by dust balls. Ensure the fan (if equipped) is running as designed (some only operate on demand). Clean dust and debris from it.
If the amp comes back on after cooling, you're lucky. They only have so many self-protection cycles in their lives so continuously resetting or cycling their power without addressing the cause can do more harm than good.
If it protects immediately on a cool power up you should disconnect the speaker connections and try it 'naked'. If it comes up then diagnose which lead(s) are shorted. If it does not come up the problem is internal and should be left to an experienced hands-on tech.
How do i use the SPDIF input? it is on a pioneer
Any audio device that produces a digital output via spdif can feed the unit at that input.
For the future: speific model numbers are more helpful. We could refer to a specific manual.
If you don't have a manual, try retrevo.com

I am able to get
NEVER turn the volume up to MAX for testing. You'll destroy something when you finally find the switch that's wrong.
Can you provide a model number instead of a dubious power spec to describe the unit so we can know specifically what controls it has?
Has it ever worked?
Does the speaker adjustment routine (guessing it has one) make tone in all speakers?
What about the onboard FM? Is that too weak? If not, you need to figure out why external sources are too low.
I'd suspect a Tape Monitor is active when it shouldn't be. Or MUTE is on.
Cant install
y u cant.. just connect the speaker leads to the amplifier according to the indications including sub woofeer wire....
JVC TH-M45
no, u cant use the speakers with other normal DVD player because it wont have amplification for the speakers... u can use the sub to other dvd player because its inbuilt 120 watt woofer. ur dvd player is 5-disc player as wel as 120 X 2 and 80 X 3 watts amplifier (AV receiver ).... so just the JVC better sound thru the sub and speakers... I HAVE JVC SURROUND SOUND
Here is a link to the system cable that I think that you are reffering to. The model number of the system you have is TH-M45
The model number you gave is for the sub-woofer only. This is the system cable that is required to connected between the sub-woofer and the main head unit with the DVD changer in it.
