Not meaning to resurrect an old thread, but I had the same issue and found the culprits after a few hours of fiddling around. The autoplay was dropping the needle close to the middle of the record and then picking it up again and returning indefinitely. I'll leave this here for anyone else who has this issue.
The auto drop adjustment is not what you want to be messing with, but you need to take the bottom main assembly out and focus on the parts in the attached pictures.

These two parts are screwed onto the largest/main cog on the main assembly. Mine were gummed together with old grease. They are easily removed and cleaned and relubricated.

The two shafts on the PU assembly are meant to move independently - mine were again stuck together with old grease. I worked them loose and applied some new lubricant.
After cleaning these parts it worked perfectly again!
No disc error with pd-z83m
I had the same problem. I didn't clean the system I just got mad and inserted the cd holder really hard and smacked the radio a few times. Now it's working again. I suggest you do the same. Sorry for my bad English.

How do I restore my Pioneer receiver to factory settings
To navigate to this interface, press "Net" on your remote and then select "Home Menu." Use the arrow pad to select the "Factory Reset" option, then choose "Start." Confirm by choosing "OK" and then allow a few moments for the device to process the request.
