Have you tried to plug it in? if that doesnt work, try to see if any of the connection is fryed or clipped on the back.

It sounds to me like an impedance mis-matching problem!!!
But it does seem you have done everything correctly so I cant offer any other suggestions - sorry!!!!

Yes there is bound to be at least one internal low-voltage fuse - so get inside with unit completely removed from any mains source!!

Replace the power supply.

Check the balance control. Apart from that the unit will have to be checked internally to ascertain where the signal is breaking down. This will require some skill and some equipment. My guess is it will be a dry solder joint or a dried out capacitor. If a capacitor looks 'leaky' or swollen, it is a good bet it is outside its tolerance and should be replaced. You can't!Change the batteries in the remote and look at the front of the remote using the front facing selfie camera on a smartphone. Press the power button and see if you see a red or blue flash. To reset your Pioneer VSX-456 receiver, you can try the following steps: Turn off the receiver.
