Motherboard dm-71a
I ran into two different problems, but both involved the power supply. On one, the fan bearing were bad, and when the fan would bog down, it would drop the voltages on the motherboard, causing a reboot. The other one, the power supply was full of dust which would become charged on opposite terminals, would reach across and touch, cause a short, and then the power supply would restart. A new fan fixed one, and blowing out all the dust fixed the other. Blowing out all dust never hurts. Hope that helps.

The splash screen with the LG Flatron logo is the monitor's splash screen not the PCs.
The machine is NOT booting up the splash screen is the monitor coming on.
Remove the 1Gb stick an see if the machine performs normally.
If it does then power it off, remove the power cord and CAREFULLY reinstall the new stick.
If it fails to boot you may have a defective memory module.
If the machine fails to boot with the new stick removed make sure you have the original memory seated properly and all cables securely attached
