Venturer 3.6" Portable DVD Player Questions & Answers
Hi there,
most in car dvd players have a wire which is connected to the handbrake so that it wont work unless the handbrake is on. (stops you watching films while driving) Try to find a wiring diagram for your unit to find this wire. I am sure that it can be fooled into thinking it is connected but not sure whether it needs to connect to earth(ground) or a positive feed to achieve this.
Hope this helps.

The only "kill switch" I am aware of is the switch on the DVD compartment door. I don't have your exact model but, on my model, this switch is activated when the door covering the DVD is closed and deactivated when this door is opened (kills the DVD spin and reading laser). Look for a small square hole in the DVD player deck and a corresponding raised piece of plastic on the DVD door.
Good luck!

Even though a fuse may look okay, it still might be bad or damaged. The only way to verify that it is good is to meter it out to see if you have continuity. If you do, then the problem lies deeper in the unit which is usually bad news. If the power surge did damage the unit and the fuse is good, then that fuse is either defective or rated to high for the device. once a power surge has entered a device, there are a number of different components that can be damaged at which point you do one of two things; Call a repair shop if the device is worth it or pitch it and buy a new one.

hi, check the side of the unit and notice the volts and the polarity settings, you should be able to find a universal ac or dc (car adapter) at any walmart. store.

Radio Shack sell universal AC adaptors. Just be sure that you select the correct voltage and that the polarity on the power plug is set correctly. Most AC adaptors will have the center of the plug as +, but not all. The Radio Shack universal unit allows you to switch the polarity of the plug by just changing how it's connected on the end of the wire. Incorrect settings could destroy your player.

Venturer - PDV880 9901321 The Disc goes too fast. It started OK then all of a sudden stopped working. Put another dvd in and does the same thing. We have used this 4 times. Got it as a gift. Don't know where they bought it.
