Night Owl Optics Explorer NOCX3 Monocular - Page 3 Questions & Answers
I took out 3 lenses
It is a wigit finger print. Anything that happen, does happen, could happen, will happen, happen to disappear, you can count on it that a darn wigit had something to do with. There could be more than one wigit also.
The optics on you Night Owl are Russian manufactured. So, it a Russian wigit finger print.
Now which optics lens has the finger print, viewing optic, 50mm input optics. So you need to tell me which optics and I will help you remove the lens by written instruction OK. I have a Night Owl NOCX3 setting on my work bench. stewbison
Hy, i would like to
Uncrew the lens front and back. Please don't the lens out of there tubes. Remove the lens clean the front and back of each lens then reinstall them. stewbison
Hey guys , after a little bit of tweaking a
Hello, did you remove the lens from its tubes? Also did you remove the lens set rings? If you did, O boy. These lens are set to give a center line focal point in the NV tube. The adjustment on the eye piece is for the focal point on you eye. While adjustment on the large 50mm lens is to adjust the center line focal point. If you removed and of lens rings and took them out. Then the lens need to send a lens Opitic company for reclibration to the correct focal point..
Now send me a diagram on what lens you have and I will see if I can reassembly in the correct manner. stewbison
Hy, i would like to open my NO Explorer to clean
Don't take it apart there are lots of thin wires to break. Night Owl Optics will
not give you any information or schematic of the wiring. It's "proprietary" That
mean they own everything dealing with this NV monocular even though it
manufactured in Russia.
All you have do is unscrew the lens in a clean environment. Try to keep
foreign object out the monocular tube. That all, stewbison
I have recently bought a
Hi, did you push the IR button? Read the operator manual about looking directly into bright lights and trying to see thing during the day time. This a NO, NO. It made for night vision. stewbison
GOT OUT OF BOX AND POWER SWITCH IS HARD AND WILL
Hard power switch, hey! You are OK,. There nothing wrong with you. Pack it up, and send back to Night Owl Optics in El Paso, TX. You can try some dielectric spray lub...Radio Shack, it cheap. You know that this NV is made in Russia. stewbison
Real hard to see & not focused 5 feet in front
Try this, take both lens out. All you have to do is just unscrew the lens. Use a very good optic lens clean with anti-static charging elements in the clearner. Only remove lens in a room semi free of dust, mites--little monster that live in the carpet, flaky skin, pet hair, etc. If it is dust inside of the NV devise, use a computer air spray to clean the inside. Assembly in reverse order. stewbison
Optics not working can not see anything through
Hello, first did you install the batteries with it polaity the correct way. Negative - to spring side of the battery compartment. Postive + to the small flate plate. The hum could possibly be a shorted coil. When the short occurs, the electron leakage across the winding it will start to hum. Then the coil will completly burn out. stewbison
Green and orange led ok but can not see anything
Most of the LED's colors are Green on/off switch, Red for IR light. When you take a look see in the eye piece what do you see, white, white on white, green 18mm image, or just plan nothing. stewbison. It could be number of things, battery OK, just because it lights the LED doesn't mean it has the power to iignite the image tube----try a new batter---If it's not this, there could a number of things that have stop operating.; such as, image intensifier tube, ccfl inverter, voltage multiplier, toloidal coil, control panel. Some of the NV devisies are micropressor control. stewbison
THE night owl nocx3 is not coming on we have put
There could be a number thing wrong with Night Owl NOCX3, broken wires, bad electronic components, inverter not work, image tube has gone kuput! With out trouble shooting this monoculars. I am taking a guess. stewbison
Everything works but when you
Yellowish color, hey. Didn't let the dog hiest his leg did ya. Normally because of coating on the image tube plate it should be green. Let me ask a few question. Are you constently replacing batteries? What color is it when you turn off the NV devise. If you can see the white color on the plate it only 18mm in diameter. Just remove the eye pieace and lens it screws into the base.
If that small plate is off colored and there are glass tinting on back/front of the image tube. Then it has gone back to Red Star. It on it last leg, sorry, stewbison
I have not been able
If there is NO image this usually suggests that the image intensifier high voltage section isn't working correctly.
In actual fact there are NO DIY parts that can be "home" serviced in reality.
The very best thing you can do is return it to the manufacturers for repair, they are really the ONLY people who will have the necessary equipment to effect a reliable repair.
Hi! My name is Francisco
internal power supply does not work.or check the display unit unsolder ed area.
or remove all capacitors and replace new caps.then it will work.
thanks.
How do i replace the battery
try to find battery holder.don't put used battery cos it may damage you'r bat, terminals and it's complex circuit board
Put in a new battery
It can be related to a failure on the inside of the unit if your battery is good and the contacts are fine.
So thebest is to have the tools necessary to open out and check if there is any minor fault of a line break or a possible fusible resistor that opened out.
If you find power to the circuits in order then the fault is in the board and can be the control IC.
Turns on but cannot see anything
Hello, there could be a number of problems but 90% of the problems with these
Russian manufactured monoculars, binoculars, scopes is the the image intensifier
tube. First they are cheaply made, they don't taken much abuse, and if any
bright light such as, street lights, car lights, turn on the NV monoculars
during the day light hours could and would total damage these Russian
manufactured tubes.I hate to tell you but there is a good possibility
that the image intensifier tube is bad, sorry. Night Owl Optic and many other US
companies use cheap Russian manufactured night vision devise to sell; of course,
they make a huge profit on these NV devises. There are a lot of
countries in the world that manufacture NV monoculars and other NV devises. Some
are good and most are just slap together. If you want a good night vision
monocular be prepared to pay top $$$ for them.Made in the USA, Europe,
England, and even in China.List it on eBay as Night Vision Monocular and
under condition: broken for parts.I wish you luck. GB...stewbison
