Sounds like you are trying to remove a cmos password and are using an account in windows that has no rights. If this is the case you can right click on it and select run as administrator or you can logon with another account that has admin privileges. IF you don't know the admin info then you are out of luck.

If you mean not turning on - remove battery ( latches underneath ) With battery out and not plugged in hold power button for 20 seconds. Plug in power lead (no battery) and press power button. If still no image listen to seeif the fan is running ( hold laptop to ear ) If not then either its a bad psu or has major issue

Hi! Have you updated the USB port driver and likewise the motherboard chipset driver? If not? The easy way is to download Driver Booster, wich are free and let it scan your computer for outdated drivers. It will download and install them for you too.

remove battery plug in power adapter does acer power on ? if no then power pack may be faulty or power point not switched on . plug a lamp into power point see if it works ?

System restore is a windows application included with windows operating system it’s not unique to your Acer laptop.
Is the system restore point you have chosen not working? Have you tried another system restore point?
