Uninstall webcam and restart computer it should automatically reinstall the driver for the camera and if not try updating the computer if still not working go to Acer support and look for the drivers and software for the type of Acer you have witch is the 4720i and make sure also you are installing for x64 or x32 bit computer found in your PC Properties... Did you uninstall the drivers before you did the reinstall? Try that.

Hi there: This is a problem most likely found in programs like Skype. Whatever program you are trying to use will need to be uninstalled and reinstalled to fix this issue.

You need some kind of messenger/chat service to access your camera

try to re install driver http://www.emachines.com/ec/en/US/content/drivers

go to acer online site, choose suppoert / drivers , enter your model number and download & install correct driver

Make sure you mic is enabled and working. Go to start, then control panel, then click sound. A box will open. On top of that box click "Recording", it will show if your mic is plugged in and working.

Do system restore to restore acer crystal eye webcam. Restore it to the date when it was still working in your computer. System restore won't delete any files that you have saved in the computer but it will affect the software. It will restore it to a certain date.

Here's what you are going to do:

1. If you are using windows 7, go to the search. Type system restore. (You can find system restore by going to start>programs>accessories>system tools>system restore)

2. Select a restore point. There are dates which are listed in a box. Select the date which you think was the time when the webcam was still there.

3. Follow the on-screen instructions. The computer will restart by itself, just wait for it until it says that the restoration is complete. If it fails, do it again by using a different restore point.

1. Locate the model of the laptop
2. Goto http://us.acer.com/ac/en/US/content/drivers
3. Put model into the selection bar on the 3rd option.
4. Select operating sytem
5. Locate webcam driver
6. Downlado/install
7. Reboot computer.

If issue is not resolved go to http://www.test-my-cam.com/ to find out the model of the camera.

Look for the driver of the webcam. If you can't find it there then go to the website of your computer's manufacturer to install it. Or you can use RadarSync to scan your computer. Try use universal driver to install it and if is not accept try to use driver which came with your computer

If your webcam is installed in an Acer computer product you may be able to find support on the Acer website. Would need the name and model numb r of your product.
