I have a Sony Vaio laptop windows xp, model number PCG9A4N, in Japanese language. I want to change it to English language. How do I do that?
Oh my god i had this problem with an old apple G4 desktop. Mine used to belong to a chinese girl. You could try and change it in settings, but basically i had to factory reset my G4. Do a web search for your sony and see how to reset a Vaio, or if you have the xp install disk, you can reinstall the program again like new. Sounds hard but really after you decide which repair/restore program you want to use, then all you have to do is follow the on line instructions. They usually show you one step at a time. I hoped this helped you out a little. Just be sure to go to Vaio's on line support first, they will tell you what's best for that laptop. Have a great day.

Very often with a camera that old with battery types that it uses there is a problem the contacts that must touch the battery when it is inserted.
I use WD40 Contact Cleaner and have had good results, simply rubbing both the contacts in the camera and also the contacts on the battery.
I am certain you have checked that the batteries are indeed fully charged.
I am also guessing you have made certain the battery is installed correctly...many Sony cameras can have a battery installed "Upside-down".
And I am curious if you have tried the USB charger.

Go to devices in your control panel and see if your camera is showing. If not hit install device and it should detect the camera and install it.
Also you could go to your "system" in control panel and scroll down to see if camera is installed. If so try the upgrade software button.
Also go to your Sony laptop online and get all the latest upgrades for your laptop.
